Coffee Cravings

Mastermind Weekend 1/16

Hey there!

I'm Tina

I’m having some weird-o coffee cravings today. For once, I’m not craving coffee for its caffeine; I’m craving it for its tasteEven though I drank a glass of iced coffee with breakfast, I craved coffee for my entire commute to work. When I finally had my second cup, it tasted so good when it hit my lips!

Today’s lunch was leftovers from last night’s dinner: French bread pizza with prosciutto and mozzarella and sweet potato “chips.”

For dessert, I enjoyed a caramel-filled chocolate egg, which had been stored in the office refrigerator all morning. The caramel was cool, sweet, and chewy! 😀

With watermelon chunks…

I am blogging from the Cafe Gato Rojo, where there are strong aromas of espresso and freshly brewed coffee, which again made me crave a hot cup. While “working,” I am sipping on a soy cappuccino with cinnamon and cocoa sprinkled on top. It is totally satisfying my craving! 😀

Bonus Question of the Day

Are you a coffee drinker? If so, what’s your favorite way to drink it?

  1. I am a coffee drinker – I hate to admit it, but I am. I love mine first thing in the morning with just a little bit of skim that I’ve “fluffed” up with a latte stirrer. It makes it fancier.

  2. ahh i loveee putting cocoa on my coffees and lattes! the aroma is perfecto 😉 some days i crave more coffee than others too! your cadbury eggs make me want to dig into my basket again today lol

  3. I adore coffee! I roast my own beans in a popcorn popper, that is how much I love good, fresh coffee.
Guess that makes us a bit of snobs, but when you drink a lot during the day, better make it worthwhile!

I mostly like it unflavored, and never sweet. Lattes, cappuccinos, au lait. Always with milk.

  4. YES…love coffee for it’s taste, though i can’t have too much or it really affects me negatively…i love it really strong (i hate weak coffee, im a bit of a snob that way but i am really picky and will not want it if its not strong enough) and black…sometimes with a tiny bit of skim milk and or cinnamon but otherwise just by itself 🙂

usually starbucks is nice and strong but lately its been iffy

i also like starbucks iced coffee usually plain, and any non-fat latte’s sometimes with cinnamon

  5. I loooove coffee! My friends complain because sometimes I’ll just post a pic of my coffee as my blog post for the afternoon! I used to be a coffee addict who drank 5-6 cups a day, but I went cold turkey for about a month then went back to 1-2 a day. Everyone needs some java now and then!

BTW I’m obsessed with your blog!

  6. I looove coffee! I think I drink one cup for the caffeine but then the rest of the time I really enjoy the taste (but my limit is 2 generous cups a day). Sometimes I make the second cup decaf, especially if its afternoon or evening!

Five days out of the week, I drink it straight up (black) but on the weekends, I like to treat myself either to Starbucks (lattes) or a nice cup at home with sugar in the raw and a little bit of whatever milk I have on hand. 🙂

  7. I love coffee… always drink hot coffee black. french press is the best!

I’ll do iced with soy milk & a touch of sugar… and I also love soy lattes!

  8. I’m a coffee addict!! not only because I need it and most importantly, I love its taste!!!
fav way to drink it? just with splash of milk! 🙂

  9. I am absolutely a coffee drinker – 2 cups every morning! I love to brew ground cinnamon right in with the coffee grinds. Both the aroma and the taste are unrivaled… much better than artificially flavored coffees!

  10. yum! all that coffee looks delicious. i love it, but not black. blech. my favorite “coffee” is the half vanilla/half mocha light ice blended from coffee bean. besides that, i love non-fat vanilla lattes or just with a little milk & splenda!

  11. I LOVE a nice, deep French roast with a splash of skim milk and half a splenda (I’m working towards black). If my sweet tooth needs a fix, I’ll mix 6oz of French Roast with a packet of no sugar added cocoa and another 6oz of hot water. It still tastes like a strong cup of coffee, but the smell is heavenly!

  12. I crave coffee every day, for the caffeine and the flavor.. I adore everything about my morning (and coffee! I love a simple espresso at the coffee house or a strongly brewed coffee with a splash of vanilla soy milk at home.

  13. LOVE Coffee…taste and caffiene! It’s a toss up between a yummy iced coffee (preferably in a yummy flavor like hazelnut or almond) with skim milk…I can’t wait for warmer weather so I can drink iced coffee daily, its just too cold for me still now.

I also can’t get enough of a great cappucinno with lots of delicious foam!!! I LOVE the foam:)

  14. Mmm…Dunkin Donuts Iced Coffeeee!! My favorite!
How is the watermelon these days? Should I wait a few more weeks to get some?

  15. I drink coffee, but more for the caffiene than the taste. Or the warmth.

I LOVE Cadbury eggs…I’m glad they only come around once a year or I’d be in trouble 🙂

  16. That caramel looks so tasty!

I am a coffee drinker, I drink too much, to be honest with you. I like it with just a little low fat half and half. On the weekends, my DH and I like to grab a latte from Starbuck’s and I usually get a 2 pump grande vanilla.

  17. Yum coffee! I take it hot with 2% milk and sugar! If it’s a weekend afternoon however, I just might take it with a shot of Carolan’s (my preferred choice of Irish Cream).

  18. Your blog got me making coffee the night before and putting in the fridge! Now I mix it with Silk Soy ligh vanilla milk, yum! I’m not big on the syrups at all, WAY too sweet for me, but the vanilla flovor in the milk is sop good!

  19. I’m not a coffee drinker, but I love the smell of roasted beans. That caramel egg looks wonderful. Wishing I’d bought some this year.

  20. YES!

I like espresso best, followed by a macchiatao, followed by a latte (can you see the espresso theme), followed by regular coffee with raw sugar and hazelnut creamer if I can find it.

  21. Coffee coffee coffee! I usually drink it freshly brewed with skim and a bit of sugar, and then when I put some cream in it always tastes 10 times better.

And then sometimes I just really love the taste of instant. Its like a different drink–like a trashy reality TV show compared to an Oscar-winning movie. Sometimes I’m in the mood for something trashy!

  22. That caramel egg… oh my! I am a coffee drinker, although I’ve been having tea lattes this past month in order to clean out a surplus of tea leaves from the pantry. I’ve realized that I do drink coffee for the flavor and for the warm and steamy sensation more than I drink it for the caffeine. I guess the answer is that I like mine in some sort of latte. I do like it iced from time to time when the weather is warm, but I generally prefer it to be hot. I also like it STRONG. I’m not into wimpy coffee!

  23. Ugh, nope! I actually can’t stand coffee! Gasp, I know! The only thing I like that’s even remotely coffee flavored is a French Vanilla Coffee Coolatta from Dunkin Donuts, and that hardly counts! I love hot teas though! 🙂

  24. Strange that my blog today was about coffee as well. I am valiantly trying to fight becoming a coffee drinker. My love of tea will always be stronger.

  25. I love DD iced coffee in the summer, but I’m actually in love with the Black Tea Lattes at Starbucks as of late.

  26. I love coffee in the morning! I usually drink a dark roast with agave nectar, vanilla soy, and oddly enough…I sprinkle natural ground coconut on top. DEELISH!

  27. I am the definition of a coffee addict; however, like you said at the beginning of the post, you craved it for its taste, not its power, and that’s me. I love love love the taste of espresso, I have 1-2 Starbucks Americanos with a splash of soy…daily. It’s bad. If I’m feeling bold, I’ll take it black, but soy makes everything taste a better.

P.S. I just started reading your blog and I LOVE it! Keep up the great work 🙂
