Earlier this evening, I burned a whole bunch of calories at the gym. I did 45 minutes on the elliptical, ran for 15 minutes, and then evened it all out by eating a Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup Blizzard from Dairy Queen. It’s all about balance, right? 😉

Damn, these things are GOOD! Best dinner I’ve eaten in awhile!

Lunch

For some reason, I totally forgot to take photos of my lunch this afternoon. I’ve been blogging for over 2 years now, so you’d think it’d be second nature to me by now, right?!

I ate my carrot sticks and orange before I even thought to snap a photo, so there’s just a shot of the aftermath. Oops! 😳 Lunch also included a vanilla Chobani and a packet of maple brown sugar instant oatmeal.

Snack

After work, I snacked on a piece of whole wheat toast with buffalo sauce and melted mozzarella on top. It was such a good snack. I also munched on a handful of almonds, but I forgot to take a photo of those, too. I don’t know where my brain was today?! 😕

  1. Man o man how I heart blizzards. Seriously. I think I may have a dairy issue though – I’ve been testing the waters the past couple of weeks and think it might be dairy. I might give in to an occasional blizzard. That is how much I love those things! Good for you!

  2. Oh the Blizzard…how I miss thee…let me count the ways. That was painful to see! There are some things that I really wish I could have and that is on the TOP of the list. I hope you enjoyed it! Good for you having a treat for dinner. It is always fun to get away with things that would never have happened as a kid!

  3. I’ve never had a Blizzard or even been to a Dairy Queen! I really wanted a Thin Mint Blizzard when they came out but I don’t live anywhere near one so it never happened. Yours looks great!

  4. I haven’t had a blizzard in YEARS. PB cup is my fave, with chocolate ice cream with oreo and chocolate ice creama close second.
There is a drive through DQ all the way in Abington that my friends and I used to frequent because we didn’t have to get out of the car. Yeah, we were that lazy. Oink oink!

  5. You’ve had a lot on your mind lately, that’s all. And can I say how utterly much I love that you had a peanut butter blizzard? You are my inspiration for balanced living.

  6. Whenever I have cravings (aside from baking brownies and eating half of them!) I try to be good and get the new mini from Pinkberry. I hope it catches on, because it’s the perfect size and you don’t feel bad afterwards.

  7. My best friend in HS’s parents owned two DQs so we used to go all the time and get free ice cream. In fact, we still get free food whenever I stop in (a couple times a year). I can never resist getting a Blizzard when I’m there, no matter how many hundreds of calories are in them.

  8. Aw Tina! Sounds like a case of good old fashioned BURNOUT to me 🙂 I’m SO glad that you had that blizzard. I have a friend who works out JUST so she can indulge in treats like this. Sure its better to think of exercising as keeping your body and heart healthy, but her approach is good sometimes too 🙂 Hang in there, Beautiful xo

  9. I had a Reese Peanut Butter Cup Blizzard for dinner, also! So so so delish. I knew that’s exactly what I wanted so I figured why bother with an “acceptable” dinner and just eat what I really want to eat. It was heaven. Great dinner for both of us 🙂

  10. Honestly, better to eat that FOR dinner than to eat it in addition to dinner!
I sorta want to tie in your post about Mal’s tough love, but it just won’t come out right. I adore your blog and don’t want to sound critical or judgmental.

  11. Actually, i feel bad for even mentioning it. You work out plenty and eat lots of healthy fresh foods, and you’re entitled to eat whatever the heck you want, and you’re further entitled to vent about your weight (which is perfect, imo, but i understand the point of the lose the dough challenge). Rock on, Tina. I really do appreciate your blog.

  12. Tina, this is my first time commenting but I’ve been reading your blog for about 6 months now. This post is EXACTLY why I love your blog!! I have such a sweet tooth like you and always let myself have a little dessert (and sometimes indulge with dessert for dinner too). It’s nice to know there are others out there who also don’t deprive their sweet tooth and don’t feel guilty about it!!
and the 2nd reason why I love your blog is obviously Murphy. He’s the cutest thing ever and I love seeing pictures of him! 🙂

  13. OMGosh, that Blizzard looks SO GOOD! Too bad I didn’t burn many calories today or I’d go get one. :o(

  14. thanks for being so honest Tina!! This is why I love your blog because you’re not one to beat around the bush with what you REALLY eat lol. I can’t stand when all I read on other blogs is, “oh, I took a small bite of this cupcake and a small bite of this cheescake.” Just say you ate the damn thing and call it a day!!

  15. Your Blizzard looks yummy. My daughter loves when we do something like ice cream or popcorn for dinner. We have named it “silly dinner”. I figure most of her diet is made up of fruits, veggies and whole grains why not bend the rules once in awhile for a “silly dinner”.
