Guys, I ran 7 miles this morning!!! I feel so accomplished! What a great feeling!
Unfortunately, however, I had to do my “long run” on the dreadmill this morning. I know that I said I would never do a long run on a treadmill again, but the weather outside was frightful this morning– dark, rainy, windy, and cold! Yuck! The thought of running 7 miles outside was not at all appealing!
Overall, my 7 mile treadmill run was pretty good. Luckily, I was able to watch TV, so I didn’t get that bored. And the best part about my run was doing it pain-free! I can’t remember a time that I’ve run more than 6 miles without my hips hurting me– during and after the run. I honestly think all of this yoga I’ve been doing lately has helped keep my joints and muscles strong and limber. My goal is to train for the half marathon without getting injured, so let’s hope this continues!
Fruit, Nuts & Seeds
We are all out of fresh fruit, so I opted for a healthy combination of add-ins to my morning bowl of oats: dried fruit, nuts, and seeds.
In the mix:
- 1/2 cup dry oats
- 1 cup water
- 2 tbsp ground flaxseed meal
- Raisins
- Walnuts
- Pumpkin seeds
- 2 spoonfuls of peanut butter

I recently subscribed to Body + Soul magazine after reading a couple of issues at the gym, and I have to say, I LOVE this magazine! Its topics include whole health, green living, eating well, and fitness. It’s all my favorite topics in one magazine! Imagine if it had PUGS in it too!? 😉
Speaking of those special little creatures, check out today’s Pug of the Day! So cute! I love the curly tail!
