Hi, friends!

Merry Christmas Eve! I can’t believe Christmas is already upon us. What a whirlwind holiday season, right? That said, I’m glad I was able to capture some of our memories from the days leading up to Christmas. It was especially nice because it was Quinn’s first holidayย season! Here’s a recap of our third annual 24 Days of Togetherness!

Days 1- 10: Here is the first part of our 24 Days of Togetherness recap.

Day 11: Tell each other 3 things we are thankful for and 3 things we are looking forward to next year.

Day 12: Do an anonymous good deed. Mine involved my beloved Marylou’s Coffee!

Day 13: Get holiday drinks from Starbucks.

Day 14: Bake Christmas cookies. We were totally lazy with this one. Haha! We just bought pre-made cookie dough and then popped it in the oven. Next year we’ll go all out with the dough and sprinkles with Quinn!

Day 15: Buy each other $5 gifts. I bought Mal a couple of framed photos for his desk at school and he bought me a โ€œbalanceโ€ย candle to help me relax while I am reading before bed.

Day 16: Give each other 10-minute massages.

Day 17: Tell each other the one thing you love most about them. Mal said he loves that I take such good care of him, Quinn, and Murphy. I told him that I love how he always strives to be a better person, which inspires me to do the same.

Day 18: Drink hot cocoa together.

Day 19: Dress Quinn in a holiday outfit.

Day 20: Wrap presents and drink adult beverages.

We didn’t do these things at the same time, but both eventually happened! We drank wine on Saturday night and then were too tired/unmotivated to wrap presents, so we did it the next morning. Haha!

Day 21: Make holiday-shaped pancakes.

Day 22: Tell each other a Christmas joke.

My joke:ย What’s the difference between snowmen and snowladies? A: Snowballs.

Mal’s joke:ย Q: Why is Santa so jolly? A: Because he knows where all the naughty girls live.

Day 23: Leave a nice message for the other person to find.

Day 24: Read Quinn aย Christmasย book.

  1. I really have enjoyed reading this and made it into a real family project. I know it’s something I should be more conscious of doing next year — not just at the holidays but all year round.

    Merry Christmas, Tina!

  2. Very sweet — I love the last one!

When my boys were little they always got to open 1 present on Xmas Eve and it was always new pajamas and a book to read together. They are big now (college age), but the favorite books we read always come out and sit in a basket in our living room.

    Merry Christmas!

  3. I just texted my husband the beginning of the snowballs joke, and he wrote back, “One has two carrots and the other has one?” Lol, close enough! ๐Ÿ™‚ Merry Christmas Eve to you, Mal, Quinn, and Murphy!!

  4. I absolutely love this tradition of yours! This year is my husband’s second Christmas (he’s Jewish), and he loves that he gets a whole new holiday to celebrate. We’re still figuring out all of our traditions, but I love this idea so much. Today, we’re crossing off your “Day 13” and getting holiday drinks from Starbucks. Happy Holidays ๐Ÿ™‚

  5. Great post, nice to read about the nice things you been doing for Christmas ๐Ÿ™‚

What was the Christmas joke you shared?

    Here is one for you…

Why did the turkey join the band?โ€ยจ

    Because it had the drumsticks!

    Merry Christmas to all

  6. I love the entire idea of ’24 days of togetherness’. We didn’t really participate, but I did copy a couple of the ideas and did them just for my husband. I think it made the whole Christmas season a little more fun ๐Ÿ™‚ I’m in next year for sure!!

  7. Merry Christmas Tina!!
I love this idea! My husband and I didn’t participate this year, but I love this idea, I think we’ll definitely be doing this next year!

  8. Doing this starting today!! Thank you! We added “look at Christmas lights”, “take a picture of my son in santa hat” and “make Christmas inspired breakfast” so far and stole some of yours.
