I’m a big fan of Second Breakfast and partake frequently, but I never participated in Second Dinner until last night. I think I like it.
Around 5:00 PM, I ate an early dinner: half of a toasted sandwich with sautéed mushrooms and melted gruyere cheese inside. It was inspired by the Gruyere & Mushroom Pressed Sandwich from Sandwhich in Chapel Hill. Mmm! Gruyere is so amazing.
On the side: roasted broccoli and arugula with balsamic vinegar drizzled on top.
A little while later, Mal suggested grabbing a beer and watching the Bruins playoff game at the Abington Ale House. I’m always up for a beer, so I agreed.
While watching the game, I munched on a bunch of pretzels with pimento cheese dip.
To drink, I ordered a Long Trail IPA.
Mal ordered the same beer, but a much larger version of it. Of course, like the nerds we are, we checked to see if the bigger beer was the better deal. It was $0.03 cheaper per ounce. Yep, we’re dorks.
Then, all of a sudden, I got really hungry again. So, I ordered a side of sweet potato fries. They hit the spot.
Once we left the Abington Ale House, Mal and I went in search of a couple of magazines that I’m featured in next month: Woman’s Day and People StyleWatch. May is a big month for CNC!
We didn’t find the May issue of People StyleWatch, but we found the Woman’s Day issue!
As you may know, I’m working with Woman’s Day and Eggland’s Best on their “Live Well” Challenge, which includes this great two-page spread. Cool, right? I also appeared in the January issue with different healthy living tips.
The “Live Well” Challenge also includes a Facebook page where you can submit your favorite healthy lifestyle tips. The best ones will be featured in an upcoming issue of Woman’s Day! I know you want to enter!
Breakfast
This morning, I brought back an oldie, but goodie recipe: Oatmeal Pancake! I used to eat Oatmeal Pancakes all of the time… I don’t know what happened! I actually ran out of oats, so I used oat bran instead. It worked just fine!
I topped my Oat Bran Pancake with peanut butter and banana slices.
Feel Great Weight
I frequently receive questions about the number of calories I consumed when I was trying to lose weight, and readers are usually surprised when they hear my answer. Check out this week’s post to find out: How Many Calories Do You Need Each Day?
Question of the Day
Are you generally a three-square-meals-a-day person or do you eat smaller meals and snacks throughout the day? Have you always eaten this way?
P.S. Bostonians: Pinkberry is opening at the Prudential today!!! To celebrate, they’re offering free froyo from 4:00 – 7:00 PM!
