The month of June was a total and utter whirlwind for me. There was lots of travel, my birthday, and plenty of other fun adventures. Here are my favorite posts from the month!
Hooray! I survived my first CrossFit competition! It was tough, but I had an absolute blast! The SouthCoast Summer Slam Team Competition was a one-day event hosted by CrossFit Dartmouth. Each team included two males and one female, and every team was guaranteed three workouts.
Thanks again for all of your birthday wishes yesterday! I felt so loved receiving messages on many different modes of social media. Some Running Mistakes I’ve Made
After Saturday’s race, I was bumming pretty hard. I was upset with myself, frustrated with my health, and just plain old discouraged because my running wasn’t what it used to be. On Sunday afternoons, I typically spend about an hour preparing food for the upcoming week. I usually cook the most time-consuming meal of the week on Sundays, so while I am preparing it, I prep other foods””most of which will be stored in Tupperware containers and incorporated into meals later in the week.

The three of us woke up bright and early on Saturday morning for ZOOMA Annapolis. I originally planned to run the half marathon, but I ended up dropping down to the 10K.

In the mix: spinach, kale, carrots, apple, cucumber, celery, ginger, and watermelon. (Here are the approximate measurements, minus the lemon + watermelon.)
Here’s the winning smoothie from the Silk blogger competition! Just in time for summer! I’m completely obsessed with this smoothie. The flavors are incredible together. Banana, pineapple, mint, and coconut combine to make a refreshingly delicious and tropical-tasting smoothie.

Fitbloggin’ hasn’t even started yet, but I’m already having a fabulous time in Portland! Once my flight landed in Portland this morning, I hopped on a shuttle to my hotel for the next few nights. The Nines is a gorgeous hotel in the heart of downtown, and it’s the location for the Fitbloggin’ conference.
