Gotta Write

March 8, 2010

Uggghhh. I didn’t do any book writing over the weekend. Damn, nice weather! It was just too hard to stay inside and work, ya know? I’m just glad that the first draft of my book isn’t due September 1. I would be totally screwed trying to write during the summer!

To make up for some lost writing time, I’m spending the rest of the afternoon writing at Starbucks. Hopefully, I can bust out the last 7,000 words this week and next, and then start editing during the final week of the month. April 1 is coming so fast! 8-O

Lunch

Before I left for work, I packed a wonderful lunch to eat in the office.

I started with a ham + Swiss cheese sandwich on whole wheat Sandwich Thins with tomato, lettuce, and sprouts.

On the side, I had some cucumber and carrot sticks.

And, a Granny Smith apple and a Siggi’s vanilla yogurt.

Yum, yum, yum!

Do you ever get shin splints? My shins have been really bothering me the past 2 days, so my yoga challenge is going fantastic. Yoga is one of the only things that I’ve found to adequately stretch my hamstrings and back.

I COMPLETELY know what you mean about the nice weather thwarting all good work-related intentions this weekend. And the nice weather continues, but now we’re all paying the price. :( Damn.

It is so tough trying to lock yourself away inside when the weather is pretty (for the first time in ages!!) – I think you have everyone’s sympathy here! Hope it goes well this afternoon :)

I’ve been doing a lot of early-morning writing, but I think that might have to change after daylight savings next weekend…it’s easy to sit at my computer when it’s dark outside, but when I wake up and it’s already light out, I’ll definitely want to be outside running or something!

Don’t beat yourself up about it! It’s okay to have time off, and now you can just focus on the future! You can do it! :D

It has been so gorgeous outside lately in the Boston area, it’s almost a crime not to be outdoors taking advantage! Beautiful day for a lunchtime walk:)

Its soooo hard to stay inside when its nice out.

Maybe you can go to a coffee shop with outdoor seating? That way you can be outside and write :)

I was just remembering back in the college days how the weather always seemed to warm up and get sunny the week right before finals. Everyone ended up outside, “studying” and laying on blankets soaking up Vitamin D.
Good luck with the writing — you can do it! :)

It’s kind of creepy how similar we are sometimes : ) I pull out a bag from my backpack of carrot and cucumber sticks, sit down at the computer to catch-up on my blog reading (yours is first on the list, of course), and see you had the identical veggies for lunch too : )

I love your site! I just got a chance to try Siggi’s orange and ginger yogurt yesterday but I was not loving the flavor. IT was too tart and semi bitter to me. Have you tried any of their other flavors besides the vanilla? Maybe I need to give it another chance… Back to the matter at hand…I love that sandwich. Looks delicious!!!!

You ask for suggestions to write in your book, I am sure you have
covered the past, present , how about a chapter about
what your aspirations are for your future, we all have ‘dreams’ of what we would like our futures to hold,I’m sure you will have your
‘magic’ cookie recipe in your book, you have such fantastic life values, talk about them, how you approach each day, with zest, good eats. exercise. I would like to hear about your future wishes and how
you will attain your goals, give encouragement to others who need a
nudge. I look forward to reading your first book ! You are an inspiration ! I enjoy your blog, little like reading your diary, without all the real personal side of your life, leaves a little mystery !
