Brrrrr! I'm so cold! It's 40 degrees outside, but a serious chill has plagued my body all day long. 😕 Thankfully, however, I've enjoyed a number of foods and drinks that have helped warm me up. Aren't comfort foods and hot tea some of the benefits of winter? 😉
We all know that I have a cookie "problem," but now I'm starting to think that I have a chili problem, too. I've eaten so much of it this past week, but I'm not sick of it at all. It's just the perfect food for warming-up in the middle of the winter. I love it!
I enjoyed a hearty bowl of leftover chili with lunch today.
With my chili, I had some Triscuit Quatto Formaggio Thin Crisps, which were the perfect compliment.
For some extra nutrients, I also had a salad with lunch.
For "dessert," I made a 3-Minute Oatmeal Raisin Cookie with Vega Smoothie Infusion instead of flour.
Speaking of the 3-Minute Oatmeal Raisin Cookie...
A reader, who works for Griffin Hospital (where the NuVal scores were born!) calculated the nutritional information for my 3-Minute Oatmeal Raisin Cookie. If you're curious, I added it to the original post.
I've also continued to improve upon my original recipe:
If you've made a yummy 3-Minute Cookie creation, please let me know and I'll add it to my list!
Mid-afternoon, I took a quick break from working to make myself a snack. The nice people at Wiseman Tea sent me a bunch of goodies to try out, so I decided to incorporate some tea into my afternoon snack.
So true, right!?! 😉
I received four different kids of tea from Wiseman Teas, but the Sencha Orange Passion immediately grabbed my attention.
The incomparable aroma of fresh squeezed orange juice is exuded by this tea, creating impressions of freshness, sweetness, and sun. What better way to start your day than a combination of three morning essentials. The collaboration of orange blossoms, apple pieces, and sencha green tea leaves, creates a complexed infusion with three sources of antioxidants. This composition is equally as energizing and refreshing as it is healthy.
The Sencha Orange Passion was so good-- slightly sweet, orange-y, and energizing.
My big mug of tea warmed me right up!
With my tea, I snacked on another handful of Triscuits. They're addicting!
A little while later, I took another break from working to take Murphy for a long walk around the neighborhood. Even though it was a cold, gray day, it was still nice to get a little exercise, fresh air and, of course, spend some quality time with my favorite guys.
On our walk, we took a pit-stop to pick up a special ingredient for tonight's dinner. 😉 I'm looking forward to making the recipe. It seems like a good one!
Back to work I go! See ya for our Budweiser dinner!
