Race Details

Sunday, Feb. 5th, 2012 – Kendall Square, Cambridge

New 5 mile format on legendary course

The Super Sunday 5 is a little of something old, a lot of something new, and definitely one of the most unique races in New England.  Our new 5 mile course revives an old favorite: the legendary Doc Linskey Road Race.

Bustonian Bailout 5K

If 5 miles is too long for ya, just peel off at the 5K split in Inman Square and punch your ticket for the Bustonian Bailout, a rockin’ party-ride back to the start/finish area.

Super Sunday Party

As always, Super Sunday will have a great post race event. New this year, we’ll have 5 different breweries pouring Super Sunday love along with 5 food sponsors and some kick-ass live music.

To enter the giveaway: Just leave a comment on this post about why you want to run the Super Sunday 5. I’ll randomly pick 4 winners tomorrow morning.

Good luck!

  1. I live near there – and it will be so great to get out and be active before coming home to healthy snacks to watch the Super Bowl!

  2. I’m training for a half marathon and I’m supposed to run 5 miles on that day anyway! What great motivation woooo

  3. Hi Tina-
I’ve run the 5K version of the race twice and I’d love to run this one, too! 🙂 It’ll be a great race to help train for the Hyannis Half Marathon coming up at the end of the month.

  4. I live right near Kendall and always see the race and think “next year I want to run that.” So this is a perfect sign! This year is “next year”! 🙂

  5. My husband and I are doing the St. Patricks’ 5k in Somerville and reach the beach in may-so I could use a race for practice!

  6. I just came across this race yesterday and was thinking about signing up! There aren’t enough New England races in the winter, so I’d be stoked to get out there! Plus, it’s 50 and sunny today so I’m feeling extra motivated 🙂

  7. I’d love to do the 5k. I’m coming off an injury and have been doing a lot of strength training so this race would be a great come back to test out all my new muscles!

  8. I’d love to run this! I have yet to run a race in Cambridge (I moved here 6 months ago but only from Davis Square in Somerville… so I have no excuses!) and would love to run something “in my own backyard.” The course sounds fun.

  9. I have some trouble motivating myself the last few weeks, so a race on my calendar would give me a kick in the pants!

  10. I would love to run through Cambridge!! I lived there for a while and miss it so much! And I guess 5 miles would be an automatic PR, too. 🙂

  11. I just moved to Boston and I am hoping to find some new routes and running partners! This race would be a great start.

  12. I would really love to win this. Its my birthday the day before and me and my flatmate want to start “24” off with a bang. Running five miles round cambridge on super sunday seems like a good start to me!

  13. Great way to start off Super Bowl Sunday! I ran this when it was the 5k/10k in the Seaport district. I planned on running last year when it was at Castle Island, but the snow caused them to delay the race then cancel it. Bummer. I would love to run this!

  14. This would be a perfect race to work into my training plan! Not to mention that running 5 miles before SuperBowl festivities couldn’t hurt 🙂

  15. I would love to run this! Last summer I did the cambridge race series and loved it, but now I am working on the south shore and really miss those city races! And it will get my butt back into outdoor winter runs that I love!

  16. Looks like such a fun race, I haven’t run one in a while (since a 10k in Oct) and would love to check out more local routes!

  17. Love road races…especially for a good cause. I need to do more outdoor winter running too. This may be just what I need.

  18. I’m planning on running this race with a couple of friends. I’ve run a few other races in Cambridge and they’re always very organized and loads of fun!

  19. I just moved to Boston and would love a chance to run a local race for free! Plus it would be a perfect shorter run before my half-marathon race in Florida the weekend after!
