After yesterday’s chilly Snow Run, some of us were moreΒ motivated than others to go outside for a walk in the snow.
Murphy had ants in his pants to get outside.
Mal and I both felt pretty tight after yesterday’s 8-miler, so taking Murphy for a long walk around the neighborhood killed two birds with one stone: exercising the pug and getting the blood flowing in our legs.
Check out that Snow Nose! (On Murphy, not me! π )
We walked for about an hour before Mal and I started to get cold and head home. The pug, however, wanted to keep walking.
MurphyΒ wasn’t psyched when we ended up back home.
(He’s actually chewing a stick in the photo above, but it made me laugh becaue it looks like he’s sticking his tongue out at me!)
Lunch
Before heading out to walk the dog, I finished off a big container of Oikos mixed with banana slices and Kashi nuggets for lunch.
It was really filling!
Snack
Just now, before dinner, I drank on a protein shake made with Vanilla Whey Superior Charge, coconut milk, ice, and a splash of iced coffee. So delish!
Dinner is still a couple of hours away, but it’s been cooking all day long, so I’m sure it’ll be worth the wait!
Crockpots rule.

Although I love the yogurt mess as a meal any time, I think my favorite is when it’s using the last of the big container and just throwing in the rest. There’s something extra-satisfying about eating out of the container sometimes.
random question – does the snow/salt combo bother the pugs paws? I have bostons and they seem entirely irritated by the snow but they need to get walking. didn’t know if they were being dramatic or not π
Nothing better than throwing something in the crock and smelling it all day….makes you enjoy it just THAT much more when you finally dig in!
I love ice coffee + vanilla stevia + vegan choc protein powder in my shaker cup too…sooo good!
π
I really need to get myself a crockpot. They rock during the winter! It looks like you had a fun walk with Murphy! I just got my puppy on Monday, I can’t wait until I can go on walks with her…. even if there is snow on the ground π
Just got a crockpot for Christmas and I looove it! They do rule!
Crockpots DO rule. So true.
Do you think I can cook any chili recipe in a crockpot instead of on the stove? I want to make lentil chili tomorrow but I’m unsure about the crockpot usage when the original recipe calls for the stove. What do you think?
Crock pots DO rock! And they are great on snowy days.
Murphy just makes me smile every time I see him, I’m so glad you post so many photos of him!
I just got a crockpot for Christmas and I can’t wait to break into it…gotta love a kitchen item that does the work for you!
I love Crockpot meals – you just throw all the ingredients in the Crockpot and wait for it to be finished. Not to mention the easy clean up… <3
Question: where did you find the reusable straws that you use? I use straws for everything (because apparently I’m still four-years-old) and should probably be more “green” and not buy the throwaway ones. Also, are they hard to keep clean? Thanks!

I couldn’t live without my crockpot!
We took our greyhound for an hour long snow walk yesterday! I like your smoothie concoction. Where did you get that smoothie cup? I need to find a good travel-friendly cup for smoothies so my husband doesn’t have a heart attack when he sees me bringing a cup full of smoothie without a lid into my car π I love our crockpot – we say the smell of something cooking must drive our dog crazy all day while it’s cooking and we’re at work.

Our new dog is the same way. We’ve taken him out for 20-30 minute walks 3 or 4 times a day this weekend, and we have to force him to come inside at the end. He’ll be shaking from the cold, but doesn’t seem to notice!
I’ve got my crockpot going today too with some soup in it!
Awwwe that last picture of Murphy is so cute. He does look like he’s sticking his tongue out!! haha Glad you had a great snow walk. π
Greek yogourt rocks! I love how satisfying it is & it always fills me because of the protein π Great stuff!!
Looks like Murphy has adapted to the snow! So cute. Walking for an hour in the cold is hard core–good for you. Can’t wait to hear what was for dinner!
Crock pots rule! Only problem is they make me so hungry all day!
I love using the crock pot! It is so easy!
Murphy could be a model.
Tina, I FINALLY went into the Milton Marketplace and made a salad from their salad. What a great little place that is! I have no idea how I’d driven by so many times without poppin’ in!
I have the same crockpot π
I can’t wait to see the recipe for what’s in the crockpot! I have to LOVE what I make in the crockpot since it always makes so much food. Have you found any crockpot recipes for 2 people?
I do love my crock pot too! I have that same one too, but in white.
Your posts definitely bring up my feelings of wanting a pug. π
Awww Murphy! Can’t wait to see whats in the crock pot. Debating finally breaking down and buying one. I feel like I would get a ton of use out of it.
i need some crockpot action in my lifeee
Love my crock pot! It makes life so much easier!
Crock pots are freaking awesome.
And heck yeah to the hour long walk. My dog’s totally jealous of Murphy π
Haha it does look like Murphy is sticking out his tongue! What a cute dog π
Oh my, that photo at the beginning of your post is so funny/cute… I would certainly NOT want to go for a walk in the snow either- I’m not a winter fan personally.. think it comes from being from Las Vegas haha.
Crockpots TOTALLY rule! π
I just tried a protein powder for the first time in my life yesterday, in my green smoothie! It was very exciting, but also devastating, as it’s a sample packet from the US and I haven’t been able to find any good-lookign protein powder here in Australia π
You’re such great dog owners to take Murphy on an hour long walk in the snow. I took my pup on a walk yesterday and was frozen after 30 minutes!
Crock pots make dinner so easy! I have a delicious and easy recipe for potato soup in the crock pot on my blog!
EEKS! I’m a Cali girl and cannot imagine walking in the snow!! Good job you three!
Can’t wait to see what’s for dinner!
i love crock pot dinners! π my fiance and i really love the pug photos from today, too.
hey Tina!! I have a question. What model camera do you use? (I know you mentioned that it’s also a point&shoot right?) And I can tell that it’s a really good quality one because it seems to take great pictures with awesome focus and blurry backgrounds too! π And how do you set your camera? I’m not sure what I’m doing right/wrong with mine~haha.

I am a new follower of your blog and wanted to thank you for the tips and information on starting a new blog! My blog focus is a little different, but I noticed your dog had “ants in his pants” today and I had to tell you that I dealt with the same thing. I dreaded the cold today, but my “M” (Mack) couldnt wait to get outside. Congrats on all your blogging success!
I commend you for being able to take a walk out in the cold, snow, slushy weather. I am not sure I could do it. I love crock-pots as well they are magical when you work all day!
yes, crockpots are the best. EVER. perfect for snowy days!
Pugs make snow more fun! We have 2 ft here in Boone. My pug is nearly covered.
a crockpot is on my kitchen wishlist
Crockpots definitely rule. There’s nothing better than coming home to hot, welcoming soup in the crockpot. It’s so cold in DC right now.
Poor Murphy…he looks coooooold!
