Heyyyyy! Here are some more adventures from Newport! We’re having a blast down here!
The second part of Saturday involved walking around Newport and enjoying the sights and sounds of the city.
Midway through our walk, it started to rain, so we popped into a restaurant to eat oysters and drink wine. We are so fancy.
Helloooooo!
Wine + oysters was such a fun way to spend a rainy afternoon.
The live music was nice too!
After our wine + oysters, we headed back to the condo to relax before dinner and then Mal and I headed out for DATE NIGHT at Revolving Door Restaurant. Mal and I hadn’t been out by ourselves since our anniversary lunch in July, so we were pumped for a night out together!
The Revolving Door features guest chefs with their own special menu every few weeks. (Although, sometimes chefs only stay for a few days.) Mal and I got to enjoy Chef Mike Winkleman’s fabulous menu, which included Chorizo & Kale Pot Stickers (the appetizer that we shared), Firecracker Quail (Mal’s entree), Day-boat Scallops (my entree, which was excellent; I practically licked my plate clean), NY Strip Steak (Mal’s second entree – the quail wasn’t a very big portion), and Chocolate Ganash (my dessert, which was incredible).
Woohoo! Date night!! We had a blast together and we vowed to have more date nights in our future. Going almost 3 months without a date is unacceptable! Haha!
How was your Saturday? What’s up for today?

That looks like a blast! Love reading your blog, I’m in the South so I love seeing all the New England beauty! I have a question for you: do you have Quinn on a “schedule” for naps & what not? You seem to be able to do so much with the little guy with no sweat!
I Love live music! I wish there were more places around me with that… oysters are so fun to eat! I can only take a few though before I get sick of the texture!
Oh my goodness – that Revolving Door dinner sounds AMAZING! Might be worth a trip to Newport just for that alone 😉
Yay for date nights!!!
Looks like a great night!!
Looks like you are having a great time. Today I went on a semi long run, church, and plan on relaxing the remainder of the year.
That’s great y’all were able to get away for date night. 3 months would be a long time without a date. Have you looked for a babysitting in MA or is it too early to leave Quinn with a stranger? Hope you get to enjoy many more soon!
Always a soft spot for Newport since I got married there! Looks like a fun time.
What a wonderful place to get married!
Cuuuuute photos from Newport! Looks like fun. And Revolving door sounds like a place I’d totally want to visit…you had me at chocolate ganash 😉 Have a great evening!
Is that a bottle of Oyster Bay Sauvignon Blanc? I loooooove that wine. We were in Newport for a wedding back in 2010. What a beautiful town. Glad you enjoyed your visit!
Oysters and wine, how fun! We enjoyed some football, visitors and the beautiful fall weather on a bike ride.
I love your Newport posts. I’ve read them all.
More date nights are always a must! And oysters too!
My sat was awesome I gave birth to a healthy baby boy! 🙂
Congrats!!
Oysters are where it’s at. The end.
