Happy 2010! How was your New Year’s Eve?
I had an awesome time ringing in the new year, but I think I had a little too much fun. I’m feeling a tad a lot hungover this morning. Ick. 😳
Last night, Mal and I had a few friends over before our friend’s house party. We stayed at our place for a couple of hours before walking over to the party all together.
While hanging out, I drank a couple of Winter Warmers.
And had some spinach-artichoke dip + crackers.
Isn’t this pink bowl sort of funky? It’s a double bowl.
I also ate a bunch of Malley’s chocolates.
The combination of Winter Warmer + milk chocolate was so delicious!
I couldn’t stop myself! (Another 2-3 chocolates went undocumented.)
Murphy also enjoyed some treats on New Year’s Eve: peanut butter Kong! His favorite!
I freeze the peanut butter in the Kong, so Murphy can lick and lick and lick and enjoy his treat much longer. It also gives Mom some time to herself! 😉
Sit…
Stay…
Food totally motivates this dog. He stayed for a good 60 seconds before I have him the okay.
Mmmmm… peanut butter! 😀
Murphy also enjoyed lots of belly rubs on NYE.
Oh, yes! Feels sooooo good!
More, please!
Anyone?
During the pre-party, I noticed a big scuff on my black boots. How annoying! 👿
But, my trusty black Sharpie came to the rescue.
Good as new!
Then it was time to head to the party. Luckily, it was a quick 10-minute walk away.
Looks like Southie was prepared for its New Year’s celebrations!
I didn’t really eat dinner, so I was happy to see lots of delicious food at the party.
I dug right in! I ended up eating a thousand Stacy’s Pita Chips.
I had some veggies and dip and quite a bit of cheese, too.
I also drank my fair share of booze– and I’m paying for it today! 😳
Ladies: my friend, Jon, is single! 😉
Look who was at the party: Tiger and Elin! There’s quite a resemblance!
Our friends, Jason and Nina, were going to a 2000’s decades party later in the night, so they dressed up as Tiger and Elin.
We also played some cards at the party.
And, of course, there were plenty of shenanigans.
Before I knew it, it was time to pop the bubbly and ring in 2010.
The countdown…
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!
Cheers to 2010!
More champagne!
And then there was Flip Cup.
At this point in the evening, I did not need anything more to drink, so Flip Cup definitely put me over the top.
But, I had a blast playing! I can be so competitive sometimes!
My team had their game faces on.
The competition was fierce!
Our team was victorious! Hooray!
Happy New Year, blog friends!

It looks like you guys had a great night! Flip cup has lead to some major hangovers for me… Happy 2010!
Happy 2010, Tina! Looks like you, Mal and Murphy (my pup does the roll over “give me belly scratches” thing too!) had an awesome time last night 🙂
We kept things pretty low-key last night, but I’m feeling the two glasses of wine and glass of champagne today…guess I can’t party like I used to!
Looks like an awesome night! I love flip cup!
lol– I love flip cup! Reminds me of college 🙂
I’ve never thought about freezling the PB Kong to last longer– I’ll have to give that a try!
Happy 2010!!!
Looks like you guys had an amazing time. Good friends, good food, good drink is always good fun!
Murphy is just so precious!
Great night! Your post was cracking me up because it was so me. I have the SAME kong, filled with peanut butter, in the freezer… My husband and I keep it there for when we need some “alone time” and our dog needs something to occupy him 🙂
Also… Stacy’s Pita Chips… not allowed in my house, they are EXTREMELY dangerous.
Anyway, Happy New Year!!! I can’t wait to keep reading your blog in 2010
Glad you had a great night!! Looks like tons of fun!!
That pb toy for Murphy is interesting!
Jenna
aww! Murphy’s such a cutie (:
I do the same things with the Kongs for my dogs too! they love it, especially when I stuff them with dog treats too – and it keeps them busy for hours!
Happy New Year! Looks like your year started off great!
Looks like a fun night with friends! The best way to ring in the New Year!
Super recap! Great night for you all (especially Murphy, lol). Nice that there were some healthful eats and you got to snap so many memorable photos.
Frozen pb kongs were my black lab’s favorite…and it keeps them busy for forever! 😀

Looks like you guys know how to ring in a new year! I love your toasting pictures…so pretty!
Also, I get really competitive with flip cup too, so I totally understand. Ironically it’s the only time I can manage to “chug” beer!

Those pictures of Murphy on his back are priceless!
I totally use the sharpie trick for my scuffed shoes.
Stacy’s are DANGEROUS if you ask me!
That looks like a great party. Mine wasn’t so hot ;]
I have totally sharpied a shoe before. Glad I am not the only ghetto person out there. Happy New Year Tina, Mal & Murphy.
You know it’s a party when flip cup gets busted out and you’re not in college anymore. I played it for the first time in a long time this past fall and it was as heated and competitive as it looks. Love the documentary of Murph. I always freeze wet food in the kong and it lasts forever! Love it when they are occupied. Happy New Year/
murphy’s so cute with his puppy kong! one day he’ll graduate to a big red one! happy new year!
Love this recap! Looks like you guys had a blast. Your dip double bowl is so cute!

Oh how I love Flip Cup! I’ve always called it tippy cup- and now that’s what I call my kids sippy cups. My hubby says, “Courtney, Tippy Cup is a drinking game. Sippy cups are for kids.”. I’ve had a lot of fun times with that game. Your night looks awesome!
Murphy is SO cute! I totally do the black sharpee on black shoe trick too. Happy 2010!
Happy New Year Tina! Jon is adorable…
Glad you had a fabulous evening…All the Best to you and Carrots n’ Cake in 2010!
I think Jon is cute too! Maybe you could do a guest post from him, or give us single Boston readers a little more info about him?!
oh hey Jon, i’m single too! 😉 Haha! Looks like a fun night, Tina! Happy New Year!
Thanks for the tip about freezing the Kong! I give it to my dog (a half pug!) all the time and never thought of doing that. Happy New Year!
Looks like a great time! I’m pretty competitive when it comes to flip cup, too! So much fun.
Your friend Jon is very cute! I’m single too and in Boston 🙂
Your friend Jon looks very much like Alex O’Dogherty, a very famous (here) spanish actor.

haha looked like a blast! love the flip cup pix. happy new year!
I love your nye pictures! I love flip cup, although it has been some time since I’ve played it! Thanks for sharing Tina
Frozen kong = genius. Might have to see if I can persuade my mom to get her grandpuppies some. I stick with the cheap-o dog toys in my house and just buying one would definitely not be tolerated. And I definitely want more champagne now!
