Hey there!

I'm Tina

”¦ woken up at 4:45 to run.

That’s right. I set my alarm for 4:45 this morning, but for a good reason!

I met the Back on My Feet (BOMF) Father Bill’s Place team for an early-morning workout! It was wonderful meeting the team and starting our day with a run/walk at the YMCA. (Once it’s warmer, we’ll start running outside.)

You guys will hear a lot more about the team in the coming weeks. I’m just getting my feet wet, but I am already excited about being part of this organization.

Never have I ever”¦

”¦smoked a cigarette.I’ve never even considered trying one. Eww.

no-smoking

”¦eaten dinner in the North End of Boston. I’ve lived in Boston for almost a decade now and have yet to enjoy some delicious Italian food from the North End. Mal is in the same boat. We need to get on that, huh?

Breakfast

When I returned home from meeting the Father Bill’s team, I made myself breakfast. My stomach was grumbling, so I fed it banana oatmeal with pecans, chia seeds, and a big scoop of Teddie peanut butter.

I also drank an iced coffee with soy milk. Boy, did it hit the spot.

  1. Never have I ever bungee jumped, driven more than 15 mins. on a busy highway (I have serious driving fears!), or owned a cat.
I have smoked a few cigarettes in my time, but realized quickly they do not agree with my system (nausea and hives!). So thankful for that!

  2. I have only been to Boston once but I loved it. I have no idea what end I was able to run the “Freedom Trail” (atleast I think thats what it was called) and shop in Union Station(?) and I remember a ton of road construction. Beautiful city. RE: The new BOMF. All I can say is WOW! What a great volunteer activity – helping people, help themselves! I love it! I wish we had something like that in Richmond, VA….or perhaps we could. You have inspired me to do some research.

  3. I have never smoked either, hooray!

I also have never been to Europe and feel like I’m just about the only person I know who hasn’t. One day soon though, I will get there.

I have never run a marathon. I will accomplish this one too or die trying (which is a distinct possibility)

  4. I’ve never smoked a cigarette or traveled further than Disney Land. My only experiences in the US were Disney Land and the Washington coast.

  5. never have i ever smoked ANYTHING! So many of my classmates were into cigarettes and smoking pot..and i always refused! 🙂

  6. 4:35am is my wake-up time 6 days a week. We run or go to the Y. I’ve gotten so used to it after doing it for about 4 years now.
I have never been to Europe. Italy some day!!
Can’t wait to hear it goes with the BOMF group.

  7. Hmm…never have I ever said no to a piece of chocolate!

I think you’ll really like running with BOMF. I’ve been running with them since the summer and they’re a great organization and I’ve met a lot of really awesome people. I think you’ll eventually get used to the 4:45am wake up. Especially when it gets warmer and it’s easier to get out of bed!

  8. Ew! I’ve never smoked a cigarette before either! Gross! I’ve also never done anything worse than drinking alcohol. All those D.A.R.E. lessons as a kid worked on me!

  9. I’ve never smoked anything other than a cigarette. And even that count is under five. Tried it a few times and realized it just isn’t for me. Nor shoud it really be for anyone considering the health risks.

  10. I have never smoked a cigarette either, and never intend to. Actually, I even try my best to stay away from people who are smoking!

While I love to run, I’ve never been on a team, but I’d love to! Can’t wait to hear more about the group you’re running with!

  11. I have a question, what happened with your IT band? I have been having pain in my left hip and I’m worried about what to do with it. I have been working out and running with it, and hate to stop, but I don’t want to it to get to the point that I have to stop working out for a while…could you give me some advice?

  12. Tina you need to go the North End. You can find inexpensive places that have out of this world Italian food and wine. Wait until it’s a nice day or night and you’ll fall in love!

  13. North End is one of our favorite place in Boston! Every time we visit we have to eat there at least once and usually end up staying right by the pier!

  14. Never have I ever…

smoked a cigarette, too (I’m the only one in my family that can claim that one)! Or rode a schoolbus to school (either was driven, I walked or when I was in high school I sometimes took public transportation). Or sipped a classic martini.

  15. never have i ever…BEEN TO BOSTON.

BUT that is about to change TOMORROW!!! I am taking the train from Baltimore to Cambridge for the Eastern Psychological Association’s annual conference. I’m a nerd, but I am TOTALLY excited to present my work and make great connections!

Any tips on fun places to go and things to see in the area? I only have 2 days, and my free time is mostly in the evenings. Any good restaurants/clubs for a 22-year-old on a budget who likes a good cocktail?!

  16. Tina!

You must try Antico Forno in the North End. AFFORDABLE and DELICIOUS!!! Seriously some of the best Italian food I’ve ever had! 😀

  17. I’ve never smoked a cigarette either. Its something Im very proud of. 🙂

Never have I ever broken a bone, or sprained anything. Which is kind of a miracle because I fall down and walk into things constantly.

  18. Um that is completely unacceptable that you’ve lived in Boston for so long and haven’t been to the North End! You should be running to Strega as soon as possible. 🙂

…or, you could go to the cigar bar Stanza dei Sigari in the North End and kill two birds with one stone, haha! It’s very Mad Men – I smoked my first cigar there with a glass of wine and it was fabulous!

    Hmm….never have I ever:
    1) Been skydiving (although I feel like every 20-something I know is doing it…I did not get that memo!)
    2) Vacationed in Europe. I had a 6 hour layover in Paris, and I’ve been to EASTERN Europe (Russia) but not a real Eurotrip.

  19. Never have I ever been on a cruise ship.

I have soooo many gift certificates for restaurants in the North End! I’d love to treat you! 🙂

  20. Never eaten at the North End in Boston???? What a crime. I lived there for three years and absolutely loved the North End. You can start easy … a cappuccino at Caffe Vittorio and work your way up to a real meal 🙂
