Hello, Fall

Mastermind Weekend 1/16

Hey there!

I'm Tina

I’m the owner of Carrots ‘N’ Cake as well as a Certified Nutrition Coach and Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner (FDN-P). I use macros and functional nutrition to help women find balance within their diets while achieving their body composition goals.

An in-depth, 4-week reverse dieting course for women who feel like their metabolism has slowed down, think they might have hormonal imbalance and can’t lose weight no matter what they do.

Well, hello, fall. I didn’t expect you to arrive so soon. You’re my favorite season, so, of course, I’m excited you’re here, but I’m not quite ready to part with my flip-flops yet. Maybe you can ease me into your cooler temperatures? I’m definitely not ready for winter any time soon. I promise to enjoy every second of your awesomeness, but just go easy on me, ok?

I’m off to New York City this morning, so Mal dropped me off at the commuter rail station on his way to school. I had about 45 minutes to kill before my train arrived, so I stopped into Uncle Charlie’s Diner for some coffee and to warm up. The temperatures were in the mid-40’s this morning. Brrrr!

Inside, I ordered a cup of hot coffee (who am I?!) to which I added cream and sugar.

45 minutes to spare = action shots.

A little while later, I walked over to the commuter rail station. I relaxed, sipped my coffee, and tweeted with friends while I waited for my train to Boston to arrive.

I attempted to capture just how cold it was outside with a self-portrait, but I ended up just looking constipated.

Oh, well. There are worse photos of me on the internet. I hope these ones at least made you laugh!

My train was on-time, so I arrived at South Station a little after 8:00 AM, which meant that I could potentially catch the 8:30 AM bus to the Big Apple”¦ so I boogied!

I arrived at the bus station just before the Bolt Bus was about to board, so I added my name to the standby list and hoped for the best. (I bought a ticket for the 9:30 AM bus because of what happened the last time.)

The bus wasn’t at capacity, so I scored a seat on the earlier bus. Wahoo! (Obviously, I’d much rather be in NYC for an extra hour than sitting at South Station.)

I ate breakfast at home, but I brought a peanut butter and banana sandwich on a Sandwich Thin for a snack. I forgot my bottle of water at home (wah), so I’ll definitely be thirsty (for beer) when I arrive in the city.

Happy Friday, guys!

Question of the Day

Are you excited about fall or would you rather have more summer?

  1. Texas doesn’t really have fall, but we do have lesser summer, which the entire state is ready for. Hottest summer on record and fires still blazing everywhere. Love fall activities and fun.

  2. I’m a New Zealander, so it’s spring for us now, and I’m SO happy about it. 😀 It’s still pretty cold, and we had some snow last week, but hopefully moving into warmer weather soon. Bring on the heat!

  3. I’m like you – I like fall but wish there was a bit more of a transition. Atlanta went from temps in the 90s to temps in the 60s in two days!

  4. Hahaha- “I just ended up looking constipated”- that happens to me way too much when I try to take self-portraits! I love love love Fall, but I was not ready for the cold weather when I woke up this morning. BRR!

  5. I’m so jealous! We don’t really have fall in TX. Sad times. I’m sick of summer, and ready for it to move on out. The temperature is starting to drop, and Dallasites are wearing turtle necks and boots when its 87 degrees out. Ha!

  6. Being a Boston girl, I’m fortunate enough to get to experience all 4 seasons in full, but fall is by far my favorite! The foliage, apple picking, pumpkin patches…
Nothing beats the season in New England 🙂

  7. I am SO excited for the fall!! This summer has been too hot and I feel like we barely had a spring. If we can keep fall around for a few months, I will be a happy camper. 🙂

  8. Im a little behind on posts but am catching up now and HAD to weigh in! I am OBSESSED with fall!! Its the grandest season of allll!!! You can’t go wrong with a season whose primary flavor is the greatest flavor in all the land… PUMPKIN!!! Pumpkin bread, scones, cookies, spice lattes, gelato… #heaven 🙂
