Hanes Virtual Sock Drive

Mastermind Weekend 1/16

Hey there!

I'm Tina

I’m the owner of Carrots ‘N’ Cake as well as a Certified Nutrition Coach and Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner (FDN-P). I use macros and functional nutrition to help women find balance within their diets while achieving their body composition goals.

An in-depth, 4-week reverse dieting course for women who feel like their metabolism has slowed down, think they might have hormonal imbalance and can’t lose weight no matter what they do.

TGIF!!! I can’t believe how quickly today flew by! But, hey, I’m not complaining.

After dominating my To Do list this morning, I headed to the gym for a run on the treadmill. The weather was sunny with temps in the upper 40’s, so I could have easily run outside, but I felt like sweating today, specifically on the treadmill where I sweat a lot. I dunno, maybe I’m weird, but I love sweat.

I ran 6.5 miles with the help of a 45-minute treadmill workout. I followed it for about 5 miles and then ran another another 1.5 miles at a steady pace. I was a sweaty mess by the end. Goal achieved.

For lunch, I threw together a turkey and cheddar cheese sandwich with avocado on a whole wheat bun. Delish.

After lunch, I felt like I needed a little pick-me-up, so I whipped up a smoothie with frozen banana, chocolate almond milk, iced coffee, and vanilla protein powder. It hit the spot.

Hanes Virtual Sock Drive

I love this idea! It such a simple way to help!

Hanes is donating socks to The Salvation Army this holiday season as part of their Third Annual Virtual Sock Drive. For every person who clicks “donate now” on the sock tab, Hanes will donate an actual pair of socks to The Salvation Army. The goal is to donate 500,000 socks!

Hanes kicked off the sock drive earlier this month on LA’s Skid Row with The Salvation Army, handing out socks and food to those in need. As a little TGIF break, check out the video of the event– and then get clicking!

We’re off to New Haven! Have a wonderful weekend!

  1. I love that Hanes is doing that. What a smart way to give back.

I know what you mean about the need to get in a good sweaty workout. This is one of the biggest reasons why I love spinning – so much sweat! Makes me feel extra accomplished. 🙂

  2. Love the virtual sock drive idea!

And I hear ya on the treadmill. I don’t think I sweat once today outside…it’s so strange. Plus I just hate being cold 🙂

You’re such a little traveler! I give you a lot of credit!

  3. I love sweat too. 😀

One of my favorite things at the gym was to run on the treadmill and follow it up with 5-10 minutes on the stair master. I would literally be dripping. I did try to clean up after myself though…haha. 😉

  4. Oh, how funny! I go to Yale for grad school and we are going to head over to the game in an hour or so. I’m going to keep my eyes peeled for you and Mal so I can say hi!

  5. That smoothie looks delicious – made a similar one yesterday, replaced the iced coffee for young coconut water. Was the yummiest smoothie yet.
Love a good sweaty treadmill workout – feels like such an accomplishment when its done.
