Good morning!!!
Going to bed early last night was such a smart decision. I feel a zillion times better today!! Never underestimate the power of a good night’s sleep! 😉
Breakfast
I woke up craving nut butter this morning. Total shocker, right? 😉 I had planned to make a yogurt + fruit smoothie since I have a mango (from my produce challenge) that needs to be used up ASAP, but I just wasn’t feelin’ it. I guess it’ll have to wait until lunch.
For breakfast, I spread almond butter on two Sandwich Thins and topped them with banana slices. I also may or may not have eaten a spoonful of almond butter straight from the jar! 😉
Last night before climbing into bed, Mal, Murphy, and I had a little fun. The nice people at PawsOff sent me one of their Protective Bed Covers to test out.
During the day, Murphy sleeps on our bed and sheds all over our comforter and pillows. (Pugs shed like crazy. It’s unreal.) I love Murphy, but having his fur all over our bedding totally grosses me out. I found myself changing our bedding every few days, so I was more than willing to try out the PawsOff Bed Cover.
The PawsOff Bed Cover protects bed linens, comforters, and pillows by completely covering your existing bedding. The cover has big elastic corners that tuck under the mattress, so it doesn’t move around. When we wake up, we put the cover on, so Murphy can snuggle on the bed while our bedding stays clean. When we go to bed, we fold down the cover, so Murphy can sleep at the foot of the bed and we don’t have to deal with pug fur. So far, it’s making everyone happy! 😀
Last night, we tested it out. Murphy was very curious about what was going on with the pug-colored bed cover. I don’t think he wanted us to mess with “his” bed.
Obviously, he needed to get a closer look at the thing.
Murphy actually seemed pretty concerned about it.
When we finally got the cover on the bed, Murphy wasn’t sure what to think about it, so he sniffed around and did some “digging.”
Eventually, he decided it was okay.
He’s a fan.
Question of the Day
Do you let your pets sleep with you in bed? If you don’t have a pet, would you let them sleep in bed? Do you think it’s gross?

I grew up with animals…lots and lots of animals. We had no less than five dogs, two birds, and a few cats at any given time. BUT, as an adult, I’ve been pet free. I love dogs and I would love to have one again, but I HATE the mess! It is so much hair – I shed enough for everyone.
For about six months last year, I lived in my sister’s house with one dog and two cats with free reign of the house. I kept my room completely animal free. I’d get dressed for the day and leave my door closed. When I returned before bed, I would immediatly change my clothes and shower. I didn’t want any hair in my bed or on my clean clothes.
But I still hated hanging around the rest of the house. The first thing I did was institute a ‘dog bed’ rule. The dog was not allowed on any piece of furniture unless her bed was there – her bed being an old blanket. It took about half a day for Arissa, the dog, to figure it out and she obeyed like a champ. Never did she jump on a bed or a couch or chair again without the blanket under her. But the cats were another story…not sure if I’ll ever be able to have pets in my own home.
My golden retriever sleeps with us almost every night!
My dog has only slept in my bed once or twice, but that’s because she’s at my parents’ house where I only had a single bed, and we simply couldn’t both fit very comfortably!
i also ate a spoonful out of almond butter straight out of the jar this morning!! 🙂
We let our chihuahua and min pin sleep with us. I could not imagine it any other way. They like their snuggle time in the morning!!!!
I have a 2 year old Lhasa Apso and she sleeps with me every night…in fact if I am not home at night she sits at the door and cries :(. The only thing I hate is when she decides to take up have the bed lol
I’m not sure – I would definitely let a cat, so long as it didn’t meow and wake me up during the night. I’m not sure about a dog…I don’t even let my roommate’s dog inside my room b/c I hate having it’s hair on my floor! :-/ I sound so mean lol
I’ve got two kittens and they definitely shed like crazy. I let them sleep with me despite this though–I love them!
I had THREE full grown doberman sleeping with us. We then raised guide dogs and they have to sleep on their own bed on the floor. I will never let a dog sleep on my bed again. Oh wait, I puppysit my daugther’s dog and he gets to sleep on the bed. Only good thing, he sleeps at the foot of the bed. I have an old flat sheet I put on the bed when he comes over to keep my comforter and bedding hairless. I am going to check out the bed cover for my daughter.
I have no pets but am desperately seeking a cat, but my peripatetic lifestyle won’t permit me. As much as I love cats, I would only allow certain domestic to sleep in my bed. If the cat is allowed to wander outside for hours/days, then it will not transport its dander into my sheets. sorry.
Dogs are absolutely out of the question. Maybe because they’re not allowed in my apartment.
We have a 1 year old border terrier mutt (think adorably, tragically cute and ~35lbs). I’d LOVE for her to sleep with us (I grew up with my dog sleeping with me) but the hubs is highly against the dog on any furniture especially our bed =( Luckily I’ve convinced him that she’s allowed on the couch with us to snuggle until we get our new couch.
New reader–yes, directed here by the MC article (not here to judge!).
Murphy is such a cutey! I have cats who sleep on my bed all the time. The hair doesn’t bother me so much, but eventually I’m sure there will be someone in my life who has a problem with it. I think the bed cover is really neat and may be worth trying!
Do my dogs sleep on the bed?! I have 2 Jack Russell’s and I have even been known to go and sleep on the spare bed because they seem so comfortable laying across the bed and I don’t want to wake them!! My life is fur….I never wear black and every time I vacuum I basically vacuum up a whole dog worth of fur!
