Hi, guys! Long time, no blog. The weekend ended up being really busy, so this is my first time in front of my computer since Friday morning. I’m not going to lie, I loved unplugging for a couple of days. I feel completely rejuvenated, which is awesome.
Our friends, John and Alexa, got married on Cape Cod, so Mal, Dave, Marie, and I decided to stay the weekend and make a mini vacation out of the trip.
I have no clue how we managed to pack so much stuff and then fit it all into Mal’s little car.
It was a cozy ride to the Cape, but somehow everything fit!
Success!
The first stop our of road trip: Marylou’s!
I went with an Almond Joy iced coffee this time. I tend to switch back between Almond Joy and Peanut Butter Wonderful. I’ve tried other flavors, but none of them are as good as these two.
When we arrived at the Cape, we were all starving, so we found a little pizza shop to have lunch.
Carmine’s pizza was fabulousāā I loved the soft, chewy dough. It reminded me a lot of the homemade dough we made a few weeks ago for Make Your Own Pizza Night.
I ate one slice and then split a second one with Marie.
After lunch, the four of us wandered around Chatham, which is super cute and the most perfect place for a wedding.
Then, we checked into our hotel room and vacation officially started!
We enjoyed a round of cocktails on the deck before we got dressed for the wedding.
The ladies.
D + M.
Wedding recap next!

The whipped cream vodka looks tasty! And so does your Marylou’s!

Such a picturesque weekend! I am DYING for some Marylou’s- the blogs I read have me craving it, though I’ve never tried it!
Everyone looks so spiffy in their wedding getups! š
Looks like you had a great time! I’m so jealous, I want to go on vacation so bad right now!
Glad you were able to unplug a bit! Looks like a great time.
PS – I love the inside of Marylous. I always see the iced coffees on your blog and want the coffee but after seeing the adorable inside of the shop, I just HAVE to go there when I’m in Boston. It will be on my must-visit list!
Yay for a great getaway! You and Mal are so cute!
That pizza looks delicious, and no night is complete without some firefly! I’m so glad it has spread across the nation – I remember the first time I had it in Charleston (where it’s made) and then was so upset that I couldn’t find it when I went home to Kansas City! Now it’s famous! And delicious. Best recipe – just pour it in some lemonade!
Be careful with that Firefly. It is sneaky! It’s like you feel fine one minute and the next you’re trashed!
@Lee: Oh my gosh, I KNOW! LOL!
Unplugging for a few days is super fun, glad you enjoyed the time off!
Love your black dress! Can’t wait for the wedding recaps š
great dress!
Looks like an amazing weekend! š Glad you had a great time.
That is the Cutest coffee shop I have ever seen!!
That town looks adorable! On Friday I saw a guy on the subway with a Marry Lou’s plastic Iced Coffee cup. I was like OMG did they open one in the city. Sadly he said he had just commuted down from MA! š
@Ash Bear: What a tease!
Everyone looks gorgeous! Love your black dress.
What a hott LBD!! š Love it!!!!
@Corrie Anne: @J3nn (Jenn’s Menu and Lifestyle Blog): Thank you! š
haha FUN! Love the last pic of you and Mal š
I’m making my first trip to Boston next month and I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO pumped to tri Marylou’s, I can’t wait! I’m also pumped for some of the craft beers that you guys have, but we can’t get here in KC.
@stacey: heh, and I just realized I wrote “tri” instead of try. Can you tell I just did 2 tri’s in a 6 day period! š
I had NO idea that Firefly made skinny tea. You just rocked my world!
What a fun weekend. I love the vera bradley bag too (not sure if it’s yours).
you were on the cape again and i didn’t see you!!! ahh!! I actually work right next to the Chatham Squire at Sundance Clothing! I’m there every day of my life!!! Isn’t the Wequassett awesome!? my brother and his wife had their rehearsal dinner there last year for their wedding and as part of my job I got to attend a Chatham Magazine launch party at wequassett..it was fabulous!! Carmines is also the best pizza ever!! My ex boyfriend used to work there and I always got tons of free pizza back then!! I wish I saw you when you were here! Did you eat at the squire?
@chelsea: I did!
Gorgeous outfit! Also, I wish you’d never drink those iced coffees again, ’cause I get too envious.
Haha you and Mal are such goofs. š I love your dress!
I love your shoes! Who makes them?
@Fallon: White House | Black Market! š
We used to go to Chatham a lot during the summers when I was younger- these pictures bring back great memories, thanks for sharing! I had a sip of my first beer at the Squire!
Do you mix the Pinnacle whipped with the sweet tea vodka?? I love both, but have never thought of mixing the two!
@Kristen: No, I’m not sure that would taste very good! LOL!
This reminds me so much of my hometown in Connecticut! The East Coast is so beautiful this time of year.
Is the peanut butter wonderful a flavored syrup-type thing? How do they make it taste like peanut butter? I really wish I knew about this place when I went there a year ago š
@Lorin: I’m not sure, actually. I’ve asked a few times, but they won’t tell me! It’s some big secret! It’s not a syrup though.
The ‘Little Black Dress’ is super cute on you š
I’m drinking an iced coffee right now and I’m enjoying it…I can only imagine what kinda of euphoria I would be in after drinking one from Marylous!
Such a cute little town! I love New England!
Heck yea for Whipped Cream vodka! We had friends over the other night and enjoyed it with cream soda…it was delish! I definitely reccomend it š
aaah so jealous, chatham is one of my fave places! as soon as I saw Carmine’s, I knew where you were. My dream is to get married at chatham bars inn.
looks like a great weekend! i love whipped vodka! and firefly! i’m super excited to see there’s a skinny version. can’t wait to find it here (washington state). i’ll certainly keep an eye out now that i know it’s available.
Love, love your dress!! You look great!
Holy…..takes me back…..my busband & I got married in Chatham this time last year….so fun to see pictures of the town again!
Thanks!
I love Chatham and the past few weekends have been gorgeous. My parents have a house there and my sister is getting married there next Sept. What hotel did you and your friends stay at? We’re looking to make suggestions to the guests. Thank you!
I <3 Pinnacle Whipped Cream Vodka! I drink it with sparkling orange water and it's the best!
I’m going to a wedding at this SAME venue in June 2012 — where did you guys stay? I am starting to investigate hotels…if you don’t mind sharing the hotel, I’d really appreciate knowing what it’s called! Thanks!
@Margaret @ Have A Good Run: Here you go! http://www.pleasantbayvillage.com/
@Tina: Amazing! Thank you so much!!!
