Diner recommendation for the locals: Wheelhouse Diner in Quincy. It’s the BEST diner ever! (Check out one of my many reviews.)
The folks at the Wheelhouse were on vacation last weekend, so when Mal and I arrived there bright and early on Saturday morning, we were SO BUMMED it was closed! š So, needless to say, breakfast at the Wheelhouse was on our agenda for first thing this morning.
I ordered my usual breakfast: scrambled egg with homefries, raisin toast, and iced coffee.
I spiced up my plate with Tabasco sauce.
The food is amazing (and greasy) at the Wheelhouse,Ā and the price is right! Our breakfasts cost a little over $8 together!
Breakfast was fantastic!
After a sweaty 45-minute circuit workout, I showered-up and made myself a chocolate-banana smoothie.
In the mix:
- 1 ripe banana
- 1 packet of Chocolate Green SuperFood Drink Powder
- 1/3 cup milk
- Handful of ice
Mal and I are attending our friends’ wedding this afternoon. A ton of our high school friends will be there too, so it’s going to be a PAR-TY!
Enjoy the day, guys! š

mmm…sometimes a girl just needs some greasy diner food. It looks great!!
Enjoy the wedding!
I love diners! My boyfriend and I are obsessed with them! On the first night we met 4 years ago, we went to diner. It was a Wednesday and it became a tradition to go to a diner every Wednesday. We’ve seen each other almost every Wednesday since we met for 4 years! š (Now we live together so we see each other everyday but we still make a point to celebrate Wednesdays)
thank you for not saying how “awful” your meal was next to the empty plate!!!! that joke has gotten SO old across the blogs. š
Have fun at the wedding!
Mmm…the banana chocolate shake looks so refreshing! š

that diner looks so cute š I love places like that!
i hope you guys had a fun time at the wedding!
Diner breakfasts are the best! I like that you got a normal sized serving with the price tag to match – so often nowadays when I go out for breakfast I am overwhelmed by the servings! Old timey places are the best.
Also – that shake looks bonkers good! Have fun at the wedding!
that breakfast makes my mouth water every time i see it! I hope your having a wonderful day! š
I need some greasy diner food in my life ASAP lol
OMG I hope you’re having fun at the wedding, have a huge piece of cake for me š
I love how often you and Mal just treat yourselves to a wonderful breakfast out on the weekends! It’s totally deserved, and gosh, that price is unbeatable!
Aren’t diners the best? We have one just off my college campus (called Elmo’s) that serves the traditional stuff (pancakes & burgers), but also the best hummus I’ve ever had. Plus, it always fits into my student-size budget!
Wow, that diner is cheap! You’d be lucky to get one breakfast for that in Australia!
I love the Wheelhouse Diner! OBs on Billings and Emma’s on Willard are also really good.
@tiny giraffe shop: The company sent it to me to sample, but I think there is purchasing info on their website.
I love diners….the best ones in NYC are Carnegie Deli and 2nd Ave Deli….the next time your in NYC you’ve gotta try them! They’re amazing.
Best,
Amie
