Today’s lunch included a little bit of this and a little bit of that. I had some crazy cravings for a bunch of different foods, so I just went with it. I had a fried egg, kiwi, apple & sweet potato yogurt, spinach with olive oil and Garlic Gold, and chocolate chip cookies. Random, right?
My lunch was definitely a random mix of foods, but it satisfied me on a number of levels.
A little while later, I enjoyed a Carrot Cake Larabar. Holy delicious! I can’t believe that forgot I had this flavor in the pantry!

Enjoy your weekend =)
I love Seven Hopes! beautiful things…
Happy Friday!!
what a great way to raise more money! looks like some really cute stuff
Sometimes the random flavor combo are the best ones. This morning on the side of my oats, I had scrambled eggs with jalapeno hummus mixed in + crushed tortilla chips. It just worked! Also, I’ve yet to find a Carrot Cake Larabar in Dallas. Still looking…:)
What a great company — and how nice of them to help you raise more money! Those bowls in the top right hand corner are adorable š
I have lunches like that Tina, where I have a bit of everything and nothing makes much sense except that it tastes good!
hey, you gotta eat what you want! no shame š
Oh I love those wooden bowls! Too bad I’m in the process of moving right now
Haha that is a bizarre combo of foods!
Ooh Seven Hopes have beautiful stuff!
Random lunches are the best IMHO š
Sometimes random plates of mish mashed foods are the best. Satisfy all the areas of the taste buds š
The holidays being here before we know it…reality check!!! I hate shopping for gifts. But all of those look like great things.
I have random lunches like that all the time. Today I had leftover tofu stir fry and then an apple with Nutella on the side. Not quite the traditional mix of flavors. LOL
love the website!
and i always enjoy having disjointed meals. they’re probably healthier for you than always trying to make a meal cohesive! looks like you got fruit, veggies, protein AND dairy in there! well rounded!
I would have totally topped the spinach with the egg.
Seven Hopes here I come…….
Love those aprons! Too cute!
Dorry(comment #4) you might try Market Street for the carrot cake lara bar flavor! The one in Plano at Preston and Park has a lot of flavors, but I can’t remember if carrot cake was one, sorry.
Sometimes random lunches are the best! Glad you filled your cravings:)
Seven Hops sounds like a great organization. Oh and your lunch – I TOTALLY do the same thing. Sometimes, I just can’t decide!
I love random meals. My husband and I often do “fridge cleanout night” for dinner and eat all sorts of weird stuff together. Sounds good, right? š
I’ve been randomly craving foods as well. So strange. But sometimes you’ve just gotta roll with it. š
Hey Tina,
Is Garlic Gold sold in stores or only online at Open Sky?
What an absolutely fabulous partnership!! š
@Vasu: I’m not sure, actually. Maybe try the Garlic Gold website to see if it’s sold elsewhere?
Meals like that are the best! There’s nothing cohesive about them, but sometimes that’s just what you need š
How funny, I never have random meals like that because I always crave either all sweet stuff or all savory stuff or all crunchy or all creamy. I hate mixing textures and tastes!
Yay for more ways to raise money!
What a great cause!
Crazy random lunch! Sometimes you just gotta roll with it! Your body wants what your body wants!
I eat the weirdest combinations of food.
Random combinations like that are the best..
WOW – 7 Hopes United has some seriously adorable stuff, especially kitchen stuff. Might have to take a look-see. Thanks for introducing me to that neat website!
7 Hopes United is wonderful. So cool that they’re helping you and Mal raise money for Team in Training!
Your lunch looks delicious, by the way.
7 Hopes United is awesome!
I love random meals like that!
Thanks for posting that link. I’ll definitely be checking it out.
ahaha and i thought my rushed lunches were random…
I love random lunch’s, a little of this and a little of that.
I just love those little bowls!
Those are super cute bowls! I emailed them to my mom as a wishlist š
What a great thing to do! I will definitely check out the shop. Have a great evening Tina!
you FORGOT you had that larabar flavor?! i’ve been looking all over los angeles, nyc, and nj for it!!!
Wow, that is really a strange lunch. haha I approve of the sauteed spinach. I had some, too!
my lunches often look like this… little bites of everything š
Random but fun! I almost always have snackplates like that for lunch when I’m at home š
Hi Tina! I’ve been following your blog for a few months now (I think it was the carrot n’ cake combo that drew me in) and after seeing your post today I just had to comment!
I am working in China as a volunteer at a foster home, and the picture of the aprons in the “7 Hopes United” collage is from a little free-trade org. that’s started up right here where I live! It’s called Scarlett Threads and they sell the cutest aprons (heh, I’m actually wearing one right now!). If you search “apron” the first 10 aprons that come up are from here – in China!
The website for anyone who is interested is http://www.scarletthreads.org/
They really are the cutest aprons =D
I received that cutting board from my wedding registry! Love Seven Hopes!
I too love, looove random mix of foods. Nothing better!
Your pictures are so beautiful and soothing for the eye. Awesome!!!
I just love “coming in” here. But it’s actually my very first time of leaving a comment. We’ll have to make a habit out of it! š
Yes that brunch was very random. I don’t think I would’ve went through with eating such a meal.
I love crazy cravings – sometimes, you just have to roll with it and eat what you feel!
Still haven’t tried Carrot cake larabars, I better get on that!!
Have a great weekend with M & M!
Looooove all the things from Seven Hopes United!! What a great organization! š
Carrot Cake is actually one of the few flavors of larabar that I haven’t yet tried. Maybe I’ll pick up on this weekend!
Love random meals!!! I still haven’t found the Carrot Cake Larabar, I’ll be on the hunt again today š
