I’m going to Washington, DC later this week (Wednesday through Friday), so I’m trying to cram in everything I need to do this week into two days. Not surprisingly, it made for a jam-packed Monday, but, hey, the day flew by, and I love that. Plus, I had my favorite pug friend to keep me company.
In the above photo, Murphy was curious about the prizes for a giveaway that I am hosting on Trading Up Downtown tomorrow. He’s so nosey. Basically, Murphy needs to be “in the know” at all times. He’s cute, so I let him.
Lunch
Mid-morning, I took a Body Pump class and then ran some errands around town, so, by the time I got home, I was starving for lunch. It was only 11:15 AM, but when you’re hungry, you’re hungry.
While I roasted some Brussels sprouts in the oven, I snacked on some raw veggies with hummus.
Once the Brussels sprouts were finished cooking, I added some more veggies and hummus to my plate. Vegetable overload.
The second part of my lunch came a little while later: plain yogurt with Raisin Bran and chia seeds on top. I also ate two spoonfuls of Biscoff Spread straight from the jar. (FYI: The jar is just about gone. It didn’t even last a whole week. Great work, Tina.)
Doggy 5K Giveaway
Boston friends: BostonDOG and the MSPCA-Angell have teamed up with Run Against Cancer Events (RACE) to bring you the 2nd Annual Doggy 5K Run & Walk, which is Boston’s only road race for you AND your dog! (The Pug 5K was technically just for humans, but Murphy really wanted to run it.) All event proceeds benefit the Angell Animal Medical Center’s Oncology service.
The folks from Run Against Cancer Events offered to giveaway 4 FREE race entries for the Doggy 5K to CNC readers. The race is Sunday, November 6th at 10am at Castle Island Park, South Boston.
If you’d like to enter to win an entry to the Doggy 5K, click over to this post and leave a comment about why you want to participate. I’ll randomly pick four winners tomorrow afternoon.
Good luck!
P.S. Have you seen the website Ikea Hackers? It’s a site about repurposing and modifying Ikea products”” some projects are simple, but others require power tools and lots of ingenuity. I’m obsessed.

Aaah! I SO want to do a puppy 5K! I haven’t seen one around me though! Booo.
I love the raisin bran over yogurt for a snack…looks so good! A puppy 5k sounds so fun 🙂
I’m jealous of your veggie plate! I’ve been going to the Farmer’s Market to motivate myself to get more veggies in.
You know you’re a health nut when the sight of roasted brussell sprouts sparks a craving!
OMG I love that repurposing site.
thank you!
@MizFit: Isn’t it fun!?!
Haha I have many many photos that I’ve had to retake multiple times because of cats popping their little furry heads into it. Gotta love our pets!
And those brussel sprouts look awesome!

Are you going to try and meetup with some fellow bloggers while you’re here in DC??
