Good morning! Happy Monday!
So, last night, Mal and I chatted about how good Murphy has it. He lives a really nice doggie life.
I mean, he sleeps whenever he wants.
And wherever he wants.
He gets treats on a regular basis.
He goes for long walks everyday.
He takes frequent trips to the park.
And other fun places.
And he’s loved very much by his owners.
As you can see, this pug has a pretty awesome life, so Mal and I think that Murphy was a really good person in his previous life and came back as a spoiled well-cared for dog in his current life. Maybe we’re nuts, but this dog must have done something really wonderful to have the life he has now!
Dinner
Last night’s dinner was Make-Your-Own-Tacos with all the fixings: tomatoes, green bell pepper, mushroom, cheese, salsa, sour cream, whole wheat wraps.
And ground beef with homemade taco seasoning.
I added a thick layer of horseradish hummus to my taco. It was a delicious decision. I love how it blended with all of the different taco flavors.
After dinner, I enjoyed a serving of Apple Crisp. I made it for Mal last week, but he was burnt out on it, so I finished off the batch. My mom’s Apple Crisp is my favorite dessert ever, so there was no way I was tossing it!
Question of the Day
What do you think of our theory? Do you think good people come back as well-cared for dogs?
P.S. A reader emailed me the other day looking for recommendations for camping and backpacking blogs. I didn’t know of a single one, so if you read any, please leave a comment on this post!

My husband and I have a similar theory about our dog. Well, in actuality, my husband would mostly like to come back reincarnated as her 🙂
I would suggest your reader start with –

Not only are each of these sites great resources but they also refer to and have links to a lot of other really helpful sites.
P.S. Does said reader have a blog and will they be talking about their travels?
hahaha, i’d like to come back as my dog. what a life. just like murphy’s.
Hey Tina- This is the cutest post! Have you read “Art of Racing in the Rain”? It’s a novel narrated by a dog and soooo enjoyable. If you have time, you should read it! You will love it!
Hahaha, I was just asking my sister the other day if she was ever jealous of my dog. You know, because she gets to sleep, play fetch, run around, and sleep some more each day. And never has to worry about work! My sister acted like I was crazy – I’m glad someone else realizes that some dogs really are livin’ the life 🙂
Oh my gosh! I see your dog in your posts all the time, but he is so dam cute!! I love the picture of him in the water, it makes me laugh and made me think of my dog that passed away. She used to run in the water, stick her butt under water and pee! Ahhh, I miss my Doodles!! Murphy has the perfect life! I believe all dogs go to heaven and when we go to heaven we will meet up and be together for eternity, at least thats what I hope for!!
Replace Dante where Murphy is written and that is pretty much my dog’s life … truthfully he has given me so much … he so deserves all the love we give him!
I believe in Karma, definitely. I think the reason Murphy is so loved and taken care of is because his owner, you, are home. Even if you leave him for an hour or two, it is okay because you are home with him all the time. I want a King Cavalier so bad, you have no idea, I tear when I see that dog outside. It’s just so cute. Unfortunately, they need so much love and attention, and I can’t be home with the dog because I work outside the house, plus I live in an apt. Someday I hope to give my future puppy the same life you give Murphy. You guys treat him like he’s your kid, and that’s how it should be! 🙂
We do quite a bit of hiking and backpacking (crossfit too!). Sorry for the shameless self plug but we always like connecting with other backpackers/campers.
My dog has a great life too, I often tell her I wish I had her life 😉
Hi Murphy.(and Tina) Check out Frankie the Pug and Flat Ruthie on my new blog when you get time. It is photographed in a recliner!!
