Remember a couple of weeks ago when Mal and I made a huge list of home improvement projects that we wanted to do and then went to town on them? Well, one of the projects that I forgot to blog about was repainting our bathroom. It was a quick and easy update.
Mal and I didn’t hate the color of the walls in our bathroom (which came with the house), but we didn’t love it either. It just seemed kind of dated and a little too dark for such a tiny room, so we wanted to brighten it up with a different color.
First, we primed the walls.
Not surprisingly, the pug wanted to be close to the action.
A little too close.
Eventually, we banished Murphy to the bedroom, so we didn’t end up with white paw prints all over the house.
Priming the walls took no time at all since the trim and ceiling were white too. Mal and I just slapped it up there.
Done. It took us less than an hour.
Once we finished, Mal went to wash the paint brushes in the kitchen while I cleaned up the bathroom and put away the paint. I put the lid on the paint can, hammered it down with a screwdriver, and, to my surprise, paint splattered everywhere!! Oops!
Thankfully, I already planned to buy a new shower curtain. (I swear, the beer had nothing to do with it. I’m just stupid.)
Here’s how you’re suppose to close a paint can:
The next day, we painted.
At first, I thought the color was a little too dark, but it dried much lighter. Thank goodness!
The finished product!
I love it! It’s a lot more cheery, right?
I still hate the vanity and sink, but it’s one of the next projects on our list! 😉
