Hi Tina,
I read your book in one night! It was such an entertaining and honest read. I love your recipes and will surely be trying all of them. I am very curious about wheat berries now thanks to your suggestions. I am excited to read your future blog posts.
I think you provide readers/followers with great diet advice because your suggestions do not recommend counting, measuring and weighing, all of the crazy “diet” stuff. Your mantra is about not being on a “diet”, just eating good food and exercising. I love it!
Thanks for all your great suggestions, ideas and insight.

Tina,
I just bought your book today, and I LOVE it so far! I’m sure I will finish it within the week. Your sense of humor, honesty, and outlook on life is so refreshing! Thanks for the good read! I am currently starting my own healthy living blog, and you have been a great inspiration to me. Please pass along any tips/advice you may have!
Thanks,
Ashley
Hi Tina. I actually found your site after reading your “review” of Naturally Thin, Bethenny Frankel’s book. I have been wanting to read it, as I, too am a fan of hers. I totally agree with you. As a healthy eater, her content wasn’t a surprise to me, and I think it would have been better if she consulted with some registered dietitians to add a little credibility. A lot of what she said, as far as self help, did help me. I like the bank account metaphor, as I keep that in min with my twin (five year) old girls when it comes to their nutrition. When Bethenny had her typical eating week at the end, I was definitely turned off to see her skipping meals and considering a BITE of cake and a glass of alcohol daily dose. I much prefer your healthy choices you make three meals a day combined with your exercise – you’re not overdoing either, but it seems more doable to have a slice of carrot cake once in a while and exercise daily, then to have a bite of this and a bite of that. I’m glad I found your blog and hope to visit as much as I can. p.s. I live in Dedham, so local girl, myself
Hey!
I had your husband as my social studies teacher last year! I found out about your blog and its great. I, too, am a runner and I JUST started a blog! Your posts are really helpful to me, especially since I am interested in sustainable and active lifestyles

Hi Tina! I was thinking of investing in the fuel belt, but I wanted to know if you ever use it and if it is a good investment!? Thanks!
p.s. must reiterate how much I love following your blog!
I really like mine and use it quite a bit on my long runs. Are you training for something?
@Tina:
yes! I have decided to train for my first half marathon! woo hoo!(i think haha) Actually reading your blog is what really has inspired me to do it so thank you! I’m hoping I’ll have the mental endurace to do it! eek!
Congratulations on your marathon! You did great! I picked up your book after seeing it in B&N. The book is very entertaining and full of usable information. Did I see in one of your blog entries you were in Orlando? That is my neck of the woods.
Keep up the good work.
So I was telling my husband about you and your blog, and where you went to school, and he’s like “I went to school with her, elementary school, but yeah!” My world out here on the East coast just gets smaller all the time in the best way!
By the way, any tips on recovering from TRX (my class is 60 min. & my core strength isn’t what it should be), and pulled abs would be most helpful.
Have a great day!
Small world! If you guys have the same last name, I know who your husband is! Please say hi to him for me!
@Tina:
We do, and I will!
Tina,
I really like your blog. I am interested in a lot of the same things… started from the food side but really got into exercise this past year and am starting to get drawn to cross fit too. Would love to have my blog be as successful as yours or at least get some comments! But I have to admit, I love writing the content more than doing all the computer work linking to blogs etc that go with being a blogger. Maybe I need to find a place to provide content and go that route instead. Anyway, if you feel called to look at my blog I’d love to hear what you think! http://fromprocessedtopure@blogspot.com
Hi Tina,
So I was talking to a friend of mine about running, weight loss, life, etc. and she mentioned your blog. I must say that I am not usually someone who reads blogs or participates in blogging for that matter, but I was pleasantly surprised by your site. I started running about a year ago and honestly did not think I would ever be able to run a mile. I am up to six miles now, but am slowly working my way up. I do a lot of strength training and spinning as well. I only wish I would have found your site sooner. A couple years ago I was extremely overweight and finally reached my tipping point at 217 pounds. At 5’8″ that is quite a heavy load! I was always athletic growing up and when I got to college I was not overly concerned with fitness or my health. Needless to say I thought I could just eat (and drink) whatever I wanted, which resulted in my gaining 70 pounds between freshman year and graduate school. I am not sure if you have ever seen 70 pounds of fat, but it is not pretty! I felt horrible. I looked to eating for comfort. I was embarassed by my appearance and I had very little energy to make it through the day. One day I woke up and had enough. I had to make a decision: was I going to continue on my destructive path or take charge of my future and my health? The decision was not an easy one! It required changing my life and my habits. It required hard work: cutting portions, planning meals, exercising regularly, and realizing that the results would take time….lots of time. I talked to my doctor, consulted a nutritionist, joined the gym, and researched recipes and exercises that would help keep me motivated (and I had a wonderful support system at home)! Two years later here I am….65 pounds lighter and a million times happier! Looking back I cannot even begin to comprehend why I did not do something sooner. Live and learn I suppose! In closing, being healthy is about making choices. I chose to change my lifestyle and I know I am better for it. I still enjoy an occasional cocktail (or few), love chocolate, and know when to indulge! Thank you for helping to inspire others and happy blogging!
What an amazing story! Congrats on your health and weight loss success, and thank you so much for your kind words!
Aww murph is SO adorable! So this is a random question, but Tina where did you purchase your truffle oil?! I love all things truffle flavored and that sounds like a great thing to add to salad, pasta, everything….
@JULIA: You can buy it at specialty food/cooking stores like Williams-Sonoma and Dean & Deluca.
blarrgh I have no idea how I ended up here…I was initially commenting on murphys new toy??? HAHA @JULIA:
so upon reading the Union newsletter we get in the mail every so often because I go there (sophomore) and my sister just graduated, I saw the article on you! I was flipping through actually right after I had just looked at your blog and thought you looked familiar only to realize that it was because I follow your blog! crazy how many people are connected to Union since it is such a small school!
