Red Lantern is a new-ish Asian restaurant in downtown Boston. Apparently, it’s a hot place right now (rumor has it that members of the Red Sox often dine there), so it’s usually pretty tough to get a dinner reservation, but Sarah worked her connections and scored us a table at last-minute’s notice.
While we pursued the food menu, I ordered a glass of Sauvignon Blanc. I also split a glass of Chardonnay with Anne later in the evening.
Our server explained that many of the dishes on the menu were meant for sharing, so we ordered a bunch of different things and passed them around the table so we could all try them, which is my favorite way to enjoy a meal. I love tapas and family-style dining because I can try a bunch of different tastes and bites in one meal. It’s so fun!
Here’s what we ordered last night:
Chicken and Beef Skewers
Sweet & Spicy Tik Tock Chicken (a lot like orange chicken)
Sea Bass with Japanese Eggplant
Thumbs up for the sea bass!
Drunken Noodles (noodles with spicy pork and shrimp)
Everything was a really delicious, but my favorites were the Tuna Tartare and the Drunken Noodles. Both dishes were really flavorful and something a little different than I usually order.
Would you rather share a bunch of different dishes or order your own meal when dining out?
