And just like that April is over. I can’t believe how quickly this month flew by, but I guess that’s what happens when you’re off enjoying a fun vacation! With that said, here are my top twelve favorite posts from April, which, not surprisingly, includes three posts from the cruise!
Cohasset Road Race by the Sea 10K
What a race! I absolutely loved the Cohasset Road Race by the Sea 10K. It was a beautiful course, we had great running weather, I had good friends to run it with, the race shirts were sweet long sleeve ones, and I PRed the crap out of it! ![]()
Pumpkin Protein Pancakes (Wicked Good)
Umm, yum. I made Pumpkin Protein Pancakes for breakfast this morning, and they totally rocked my world. The texture and taste reminded me of a pumpkin muffin, so I must have said “oh my gosh, these are delicious” at least three or four times while I was eating them.
How to Get Healthy at the Grocery Store
Yesterday, I watched a really interesting episode of The Dr. Oz Show called “Dr. Oz’s Super Market Survival Guide.” It was all about learning how to save time and money while taking the guesswork out of what to buy at the grocery store.
It Doesn’t Have To Be Fun To Be Fun
Oooh, Prowler Pushes… how I love to hate you. What the heck are Prowler Pushes, you ask? Well, basically, you push a big metal sled with weight on it across a flat surface—often times it’s pavement, which makes for a loud, obnoxious scraping sound. Sounds glamorous, doesn’t it? ![]()
The Importance of Performance Tracking
Good morning, friends! So, something awesome happened last night: I deadlifted 200 pounds! Woohoo! For those of you who CrossFit, 200 pounds isn’t all that impressive, but, for me, it was pretty darn cool, especially since I increased my deadlift weight by almost a third!
12 Tasty Recipes for Cookie Friday
I haven’t celebrated Cookie Friday in a long time on CNC, so I decided to do a cookie roundup of my favorite recipes this afternoon. I hope you decide to make one (or more) of them to enjoy today!
I Bet You Didn’t Know III
Good morning! Happy Monday! My countdown to vacation has officially begun: 5 days. Woohoo! I cannot wait! Remember my I Bet You Didn’t Know posts? If you missed them, here’s I Bet You Didn’t Know and I Bet You Didn’t Know II.
How Do You Handle Stress Eating?
Woah. Is this morning flying by for anyone else or is it just me? Hey, I’m not complaining—I mean, the quicker the day goes by, the closer I am to vacation! Vacation countdown: 3 days. Can you tell I’m just a tad excited? Breakfast Remember my failed protein pancake from yesterday?
My Favorite Budget-Friendly Dinners
Now that Mal and I have incorporated more meat into diet, our grocery bills have been quite a bit more expensive, so I’m always looking for ways to save money. The recipe for Mexican Ground Turkey Quinoa Skillet is from $5 Dinners, so I spent some time browsing the site looking for budget-friendly recipes to make in the future.
Ready to Cruise
I guess I should start with Day 1 of our vacation, right? Are you ready? Here goes! Our cruise departed from Miami on Sunday morning, so we flew down the night before and spent the night so we didn’t need to worry about any travel issues and potentially missing our cruise.
Travel WODs for Cruises
A bunch of you guys asked if I exercised on the cruise last week—and you bet I did! I {heart} exercise! And running! And iced coffee! There was a jogging track on the cruise ship, so I did a couple of 3-mile runs (27 laps) during the week.
Exploring the Mayan Ruins of Tulum in Cozumel, Mexico
On Day 3 of the cruise, Mal and I woke up bright and early for an excursion to explore the the Mayan Ruins of Tulum in Cozumel, Mexico. We booked the excursion through Carnival, but a separate company in Cozumel ran the tour.
