A few week ago on Keeping Up with the Kardashians, Kim freaked out over losing an earring after Kris (her boyfriend, now husband) threw her into the ocean. Granted, a $75,000 earring is a pretty expensive thing to lose, but why the hell does anyone own an earring that expensive?!
Eventually, Kim’s earring was found, but Kris later said he would never own anything that would upset him that much if he lost it. (Kris isn’t the prettiest guy Kim’s been with, but least his head is screwed on straight.)
Earlier this week, I had my own Kim Kardashian moment (minus the freaking out and $75,000 earring). On my afternoon walk with Murphy, I noticed that one of my Tiffany earrings fell out of my ear. Wah. Of course, I was wicked bummed about losing it. I received the earrings for my 30th birthday from my in-laws, and it’s not like I have a ton of nice jewelry (most of it is from Target or Claire’s), so, in my world, losing a Tiffany earring is like losing a $75,000 earring. Even still, I wasn’t going to let it ruin my day. It was just an earring, and maybe it would turn up somewhere?
Well, last night, when I was walking Murphy, he abruptly stopped to sniff something on the side of the road. At first, I wasn’t really paying attention since he does this all of the time, but then I looked down to see what he was so interested in.
I immediately saw something shiny mixed with the dirt and gravel. Holy crap! It was my earring! I bent down, picked it up, and said out loud: “Murphy, you found it!” Then, I gave him a big (pug) hug!
My earring is bent and a little scratched up, but, needless to say, I’m psyched to have it back. Thanks, Murph!
I’m doing my long run later this morning, so I ate my usual pre-run breakfast: a Sandwich Thin with peanut butter and sliced banana on top. It’s the perfect running fuel for me.
And, of course, I drank a glass of iced coffee with soy milk.
Wish me luck! I’m off to RUN!
Question of the Day
Have you ever lost and found something special to you? What do you think about what Kris said to Kim about never owning anything that would upset you so much if you lost it?
