Later today, Mal and I are off to Oregon to visit his grandmother for a few days. My sister-in-law and her boyfriend are coming down from Seattle to join us, so we’re going to spend some quality family time together. (We may or may not have plans to cook Grandma’s fried chicken! Yessss! )
Mal and I are making the trip to the West coast for the sole purpose of spending time with family, so I’m taking a mini break from blogging for the next few days. (But, CNC never sleeps! There are 8 posts scheduled!) I will still snap photos of our time in Oregon, but it’ll be like a ‘normal’ person, not some crazy food blogger. As you can imagine, it’s sometimes difficult to fully enjoy my life when I’m constantly trying to document it for my blog.
Now don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love my job, but it is all-consuming. I work more now than ever and it never stops. I blog every day about my life, so my brain doesn’t stop thinking about it. I am constantly writing blog posts in my head. I even dream about blogging. It’s probably a bit unhealthy to be so focused on one thing, but I love what I do and wouldn’t trade it for anything.
This morning’s breakfast was banana oatmeal with ground flaxseed meal and peanut butter. When I woke up, my brain was on auto drive, so I just went with what I knew:
And iced coffee.
Easy. Delicious. Satisfying.
Remember the last time Mal and I traveled to Oregon? Well, it was quite an adventure!!!
It started out like this:
But, thankfully, included this:
Let’s hope for smooth travels today!
Question of the Day
If you’re a blogger, do you sometimes find it difficult to enjoy special moments because you’re so focused on capturing it for your blog? How do you deal with this blog-life balance?
P.S. Have you heard that eating certain foods can give you a healthy winter “tan”? Interesting, right?
