Murphy’s Day Out

September 20, 2010

Murphy had a nice little Monday. We went to the vet for a check-up and then to the pet store to look at Halloween costumes. We didn’t have time for Bed, Bath, & Beyond though! ;-)

Murphy was excited about the shopping part of our trip, but I think he was a little nervous about his visit to the vet.

At the vet, I learned that my pug is a monster. The standard breed weight for a pug is 14-18 pounds. Murphy weights 30!!! 8-O Somehow, the vet was not concerned.

Apparently, Murph is just a BIG boy!

Once Murphy had his check-up, it was time to take some blood and get few vaccinations. Obviously, this was not the highlight of Murphy’s day out.

Gah! Get me outta here!

Murphy survived his visit to the vet, so I rewarded him with a trip to the pet store where we looked at doggie Halloween costumes.

Murphy tried on a spider costume that was pretty cool, but he decided to hold out for the lobster costume at Target. I hope they have it again this year. I know how badly Murphy wants to wear it. (FYI: This is what a pug looks like in a lobster costume.)

Of course, Murphy was more interested in the snacks at the store than costumes. He gets his appetite from me! ;-)

Lunch

After finishing our errands, Murphy and I headed home. He zonked out on the couch and I made lunch: a big plate of fresh fruit and veggies along with half of a turkey and asiago cheese sandwich on whole wheat bread.

Oh, how I missed fresh fruit!

And vegetables!!!

After lunch, I satisfied my sweet tooth with a piece of whole wheat bread with Barney Butter and a crushed-up dark chocolate Adora disk on top.

BB + chocolate = delish! :-D

I pretty much tackled all of the errands on my To Do list today, which feels awe-some. I can’t remember the last time it happened!

I’m debating what to make for dinner. I think I want pizza. Any topping/recipes suggestions?

Trying on doggie costumes is the way to go! We got a pumpkin for our puppy last halloween that was much to big, but still hysterical. We tried to pair it with a pirate hat, but she was having none of it.
