Rumbling in My Stomach

February 23, 2010

The rumbling in my stomach started early today. By 10:30, I was already thinking about lunch. I dug into my apple and chugged some water, which sort of did the trick– well, at least for a little while.

I waited until noon to dive into my lunch. My stomach was relentless this morning! My appetite has been so weird lately! I guess, I’m just going with it! ;-)

I started with an arugula salad with grape tomatoes, cucumbers, red onion, carrots, mushrooms, chickpeas, and BBQ Honey KooLoos for some added crunch.

Lunch also included a container of pineapple Chobani mixed with Uncle Sam cereal and chopped walnuts, which was an awesome flavor and texture combination. So good! :-D

Today’s lunch ended up being very filling. Yay! :-D

It’s weird. The day after I do strength training my appetite is on FIRE! I wonder if that has anything to do with how hungry you feel today? I can definitely feel the spark in my metabolism with regular strength training so I imagine you are experiencing just that. ;)

I really want some of those crunchy balls, they seem like the perfect addition to a salad! Either that or I need to start making some homemade crutons!

The salad looks great. Somehow when I’m super hungry a salad never sounds appealing. I always want carbs when I feel like that.

I agree about the strength training, if I lift weights, I am a crazy hungry woman the next day. Gotta feed those muscles!

This is why blogs like this are so important! So many women are afraid to eat more, even when their bodies and appetites are telling them to! It’s great to see such a balanced approach to healthy eating – when your body wants more food, you shouldn’t deny it!

I had a rumbling stomach yesterday–right after I ate I was hungry again! I think it was from my workout the day before. Sometimes it takes awhile for your tummy to catch up with your body.

I need to get some more salad ingredients next time I hit the store. I just generally don’t have much taste for salads in the winter and everything goes bad.

Just a suggestion…if you find yourself getting hungry a lot before lunch, what does the trick for me is switching up my breakfast. Try something new for a while or do a variety throughout the week! (You can still incorporate oatmeal in them!)

I think it’s really good you’re listening to your body and it needs, so important! And see: after a nice lunch your body is happy too (and quiet;) )

Have fun at the wine tasting! Do you always sip and spit it out or drink all the wine? Strange question, I know, but I’m curious!
