Robots

January 29, 2010

Hi, all! I hope you’re having a wonderful Friday night! I can’t believe that the evening is just about over! Time flies when you’re having fun! ;-)

So, look what I found buried in our kitchen cabinet:

How could I forget about this delicious bottle of dipping oil?!

IMG_4289.JPG

Obviously, this fancy-schmancy Parmesan Garlic Dipping Oil with Capers went perfectly with a leftover baguette.

Mal and I snacked on bread + olive oil before heading out to meet friends for an art show and dinner. I ate at least 5 or 6 pieces of French bread dipped into olive oil. Holy yum!

IMG_4299.JPG

Murphy also had a little snack: a mini peanut butter cup from Maggie’s Dog House in Hingham. How adorable are these dog treats?! Maggie’s has an entire case full of yummy-looking goodies for pups.

IMG_4300.JPG

Of course, Murphy was VERY excited about the peanut butter cup. He has the worst pug peanut butter addiction ever!

I… You… We… Robot!

Tonight, Mal and I attended an art show, called “I…You…We…ROBOT: A Visual Homage To Our Inner Geek!” It was a group exhibition that featured over 70 artists– one of which was our friend, Jon.

The event was held at Space 242, a funky loft-type venue in the South End… and it was totally PACKED!!!

When Mal and I arrived, there was a huge line of people waiting to get in.

IMG_4308.JPG

Who knew robots were so popular!?!

I liked Jon’s piece the best!

Dinner

After the art show, a big group of us headed to dinner at MJ O’Connor’s, an Irish pub on the edge of the South End.

Our table started with a round of drinks, so I ordered a dirty vodka martini with olives.

For dinner, I ordered the Irish Stout Onion Soup, which was basically your usual French onion soup, but made with Guinness. It was awesome!

IMG_4345.JPG

French onion soup was the perfect comfort food for a freezing cold winter night!

Cheers to the artist! :-D

I have an early morning planned tomorrow, so I’m hitting the hay right away.

I’m a poet and I didn’t even know it!

Ok, I’m done.

Good night!

is it wrong that i want to eat the dog treats? I actually thought they were for human consumption for a minute.
I’m jealous of Murphy!

haha I was thinking the same thing — those dog treats look delicous. :D As does that delicious bottle of olive oil. Bread and EVOO is always impossible for me to pass up.

LOVE Southie – have you tried the pizza shop on Broadway next to Store 24? They always have unintentionally funny signs out front, advertising their “Chicken Sandwish” and such. If you haven’t tried their pizza, you should! It’s soooo good!

A big mistake from us in France onion soup, very traditional made it after a night when friends invited too have taken it to warm the heart, then they share at home quietly.

ARGG I would have gone to that event if I didn’t have class at 8 AM today and wasn’t behind on school work! I’ll have to send my friend who was in it this link – it looked like fun!
