Hunt for the Perfect Pair

January 7, 2010

My husband and my dog just left me in the dust! 8-O The three of us went on a 2-mile walk/run to the grocery store this evening. I needed a few ingredients to test a recipe for Sunday’s cookie swap, and my boys totally left me behind!

On the way to the grocery store, Mal and I walked and chatted while Murphy sniffed every single thing he encountered. On the way home, we ran 3/4 mile, but the last 1/4 mile, Mal and Murph pulled ahead in an all out sprint until they reached the front door of our apartment. Who knew pugs could sprint? Not me! Mal even admitted that Murphy was faster than him at times! Oh, my little pug athlete. (There’s another oxymoron! I’m full of ‘em today! ;-) )

Dinner

Mal whipped up dinner for us tonight. We had tuna melts with jalapeƱo cheddar on toasted Sandwich Thins.

And, also a pickle on the side. Seriously, how good are pickles!?!

Dessert is baking in the oven right. Smells SO good! I can’t wait to indulge! :-D

Afternoon Snack

I planned to stop by the mall on my way home from work this afternoon. I’m always hungry around this time, so I brought a snack with me, so I wasn’t tempted by mall food. And, I made sure to leave my Odwalla Bar in the car, so I didn’t mindlessly munch on it at my desk, which I probably would have done if I had it with me.

I love this flavor of Odwalla Bar! It’s easily one of my favorites. It reminds me of a nutty oatmeal chocolate chip cookie.

Hunt for the Perfect Pair

My mission at the mall was to find the perfect pair of winter boots.

Those of you from New England probably won’t believe this, but I have not owned a pair of winter boots in YEARS! No wonder I complain about the cold, right? :-? I have a pair of rain boots that I wear in the snow (and, um, rain), but after 5 minutes, my feet are frozen. My father-in-law gave me a gift card to the Walking Company for Christmas, so I could (finally) buy myself a pair of winter boots.

When I arrived at the Walking Company, I was psyched to see this sign in the window:

Wahoo! So many boots on sale to choose from!

So, which pair did I pick?

A.

Leave your guess in the comment section of this post. Have fun! I’ll tell you guys in the morning which pair of boots I chose.

Off to watch Modern Family (via DVR)!!!!!

I love D and have now hunted them down online in my size. Hubby was going to buy me a new pair of boots and I think these are the ones. I would be thrilled if we would be twins. :)

I’m going for E as they seem most appropriate for wet, snowy weather. They’re all super cute, though! I discovered Bogs and am pretty obsessed. xo

We’re having a crazy cold snap here in Ireland at the moment and all the footpaths are frozen over like ice rinks – HOW can you guys jog or sprint in Boston?! Surely it’s even colder and icier with you guys?

I love tuna melts, they’re so easy and satisfying to whip up. Yours looks delish!

I hear ya on the boots, I didn’t own a pair of proper winter boots until I moved to New York 4 years ago. I had a skimpy California wardrobe prior to living here.

I think D because of the rubber on the bottom. Function over style, I think. Your site is very encouraging and has started my hubby & I on a healthy tract instead of a diet.

Pair A. Do they have a side zipper, if so I have those? And I have hand me down Bs from my 9 year-old niece. I bet you got F though. Totally your style. :D
