Starbucks X 2

December 12, 2009

I can’t believe how quickly today has flow by! It’s already 6:00 pm! Where did the day go? I guess sleeping late does that, huh? Mal and I slept in until about 9:30 this morning. We were up until 2:30 after our party, so we definitely needed the sleep, but now the day has gotten away from us.

Breakfast

While I worked on my Health post, Mal and Murphy made a Starbucks run for breakfast. I had a tall eggnog misto and a Bacon, Gouda Cheese, Egg Frittata on Artisan Roll. Both were delish!

After breakfast, Mal and Murphy met some friends at the dog park while I headed to Starbucks to work on my book. I made some progress, but let’s just say, it’s not going well. :-? I really need to buckle down and start making some sacrifices– like waking up early or staying up late to write or paring-down my social calendar. Otherwise, this baby isn’t going to get written!

Lunch

While working away, I treated myself to another eggnog misto (yes, I have an eggnog problem) and a frosted polar bear cookie. Not the healthiest “lunch,” but I plan to make up for it with a veggie-rific dinner.

(I didn’t snap a photo at Starbucks, so this one is a stand-in.)

Snack

I worked for about 3 hours before heading home. I grabbed a quick snack (leftover mini panini) and then hit the gym for an upper body strength training workout and some time on the elliptical.

Tomorrow morning, I’m running my first road race since last May, so I didn’t want to push myself too hard at the gym this afternoon. I still have brucitis in my hip, so I had an easy-ish workout. I don’t think I’ll beat my time from last year’s Jingle Bell 5k, but I plan to have a good time and finish the race.

Good luck in the 5K. You are smart not to overdo it the day before. I did that with my Turkey Trot and felt great!

i love your wonderful attitude about sweets :-) it is so refreshing to see someone not apologize for eating what they feel like! cookies are good and should be eaten and should NOT make you feel bad about yourself!!

No worries about the Polar Bear cookie and eggnog lunch. I had a Riesling and chocolate chip cookie dinner.

BTW: If you ever wondered the Biltmore estate Riseling is quite good. I can even type after having a few glasses of it apparently. Wait. Does that make it bad or good?

Hope your run goes well! You could always have some 2x Starbucks before the run to get you even more pumped!

I’m addicted to anything peppermint around the holidays… Any other time of the year I could care less about it. I think it’s just comforting. Good luck tomorrow on your race!

I want that sandwich for breakfast, it sounds amazingly yummy! Don’t get so down on yourself, definitely make those sacrifices to ease the stress and help you get the work done but stay positive. We are all here rooting for you. I can’t wait for the book and I will be here to encourage you the whole way! I am sure plenty of others agree. Stay positive, you’re not screwed..you CAN do it! :)

It’s not hard to find an excuse to have Starbucks twice in one day…I mean, I’ll comprimise rent or contemplate selling my body for a good latte..

I LOVE eggnog – it’s an addiction. Have you ever made your own from fresh eggs? It’s SO good and you only need a little bit to satisfy your cravings.

I ran the Indy Jingle Bell Run yesterday – good luck with yours. Hopefully it’s not as chilly as ours was! Brrr!
