I didn’t realize until I sat down to blog that my entire Saturday is focused on food! There’s nothing wrong with that– I’m just pointing it out!
Of course, my morning started with a wonderful bowl of oats.
In the mix:
- 1/2 cup dry oats
- 1/3 cup canned squash
- 5 Medjool dates, chopped
- 1 tbsp ground flaxseed meal
- 1/2 cup water
- 2 scoops of Barney Butter
Oats + iced coffee…
The next food-related activity on my Saturday agenda is a blogger/media event! How cool is that? Starbucks is hosting a tasting to try their new Tea Lattes. It looks like Starbucks is finally tapping into social media to market their products!
After the tasting event, Mal and I are meeting our friends, Jon and Rose, for brunch/lunch. I’m not sure where we are going to eat yet, but I hope our friends pick a yummy place! I’m in the mood to try a new restaurant!
The rest of my Saturday is filled with errands, including a trip to the grocery store to buy ingredients for our Super Bowl Party. (Either Mal and I or our neighbors, Josh and Danielle, are hosting.) I have no idea what I want to make for the party, but I have really fun football-themed dishes to serve it in!
Enjoy your Saturday, guys! I’m off to do food things!

The blogger/media event sounds cool. I think its really interesting to see what new (and a lot of times cheaper) marketing companies are coming up with right now. Have fun on your food-filled day!

sounds fun! how did you hear about the Starbucks thing?
What a fun day planned!! Enjoy it
Hey Tina,
I was reading you interview on N her shoes yesterday, and I saw that you said you stay away from milk because it messes with you skin. Lately, I have been having some trouble with my skin, and I was wondering if staying away from milk would help?
However, I do notice that you still eat yogurt, so is it just milk that I should stay away from?
Any advice would be great!
Enjoy your weekend
A food filled Saturday sounds great to me!

Very impressive blog, Tina. It was nice meeting you today at the event.
Sounds like a great day! Can’t wait to see yoru post about the Starbucks event!
I love your blog and I just wanted to say that I really like the fact that you drink iced coffee in the winter. I drink iced coffee and iced tea throughout the winter and people always say something. I hope you have a great day!
The iced coffee, is that just a normal coffee, cold with ice, or is it a different recipe like iced tea?
I never tire of oats! Those look A-MAZING! Enjoy all the yummy food.
How do you make your iced coffee? I’ve tried, but it never turns out well.
The blogging event sounds interesting! You will definitely have to fill us in on what you talked about. As a new blogger, I’m always looking for tips and info!
just curious..what does barney butter taste like? i almost bought it the other day but couldn’t bring myself to until i got a second opinion.
@tami: The food!
@emily: One of Starbucks’ PR people contacted me about it.
@Alex: It might. I don’t drink much milk anymore, and my skin has gotten SO much better. Yogurt is very different than milk– it’s actually a lot easier on your digestive system. You can read more about yogurt and acne here: http://www.quickacneremedy.com/acne-articles/treating-acne-with-yogurt.html

@Alice: It tastes like roasted almonds. It’s amazing!
