Best Tree Yet

December 7, 2008

Christmas tree success!!! :) Our Christmas tree outing was (thankfully) quick and easy. I love the “event” of picking out a Christmas tree, but I could do without the freezing cold weather. After arriving at Lambert’s, Mal and I browsed their Christmas tree selection for about 5 minutes before deciding on a tree. We have picked out quite a few trees together over the years, but Mal referred to this particular one as “the best tree yet!” It was a short-ish Balsam Fir, but nice and full and without any weird branch gaps. Here’s our beauty…

Lunch

Mal and I were on-the-go almost all morning long, so we stopped at Bruegger’s to refuel. I ordered a cheddar-jalapeno bagel with a sun-dried tomato spread and lots of veggies. The bagel had whole jalapenos and a layer of cheese on top. Yum!

The bagel sandwich veggies inlcluded: tomato, cucumbers, green peppers, and lettuce.

To drink, Mal and I split a Half & Half (iced tea + lemonade). I’m typically a “water gal,” but when it comes to Half & Half, it’s a different story– I love the stuff! :) Drinking it reminds me of summer, a feeling that I totally needed today!

Breakfast

Breakfast this morning was so relaxing and enjoyable. I sat in my PJ’s on the couch, watching the snow fall outside my nice, warm apartment, sipping coffee, and munching on yummy food. Breakfast included 2 pieces of toasted homemade cranberry loaf with melted Smart Balance and vanilla yogurt with almonds. What a lovely morning it was! :)

I’m at Healthworks for the next 4 hours! Let’s hope it flies by!

Pretty tree! We had an artificial tree when I was a kid, so I never had the pick out a tree experience. Still had tons of fun decorating it though!

Looks fun! I never got to pick out Christmas trees since I am Jewish but we do sometimes have our little Chanukah bush to decorate! Love the holidays!
