Cafe Latte Oatmeal

What could be better than oatmeal and coffee for breakfast? How about oatmeal and coffee in the same bowl? Yea, that’s what I thought, too– delicious!

Cafe Latte Oatmeal
1/2 cup dry oats
1/2 brewed coffee (darker the better!)
1/2 cup milk (soy, hemp, etc. would work too)
2 tsp brown sugar
1/2 tbsp vanilla yogurt (optional)
1. Combine ingredients.
2. Cook in microwave for 2 minutes.
3. Top oatmeal with vanilla yogurt (optional).
4. Enjoy!

Hi Tina, I love your blog! You have given me so many ideas for healthy meals and snacks, plus workouts… I really appreciate all your hard work! My question for you is: what kind of lunchbag do you carry to work? If I remember correctly, you take public transportation, and so do I… I’m trying to reduce the number of bags I carry (purse, laptop/work bag, lunchbag, etc) so I thought I would see what you (and your readers) have come up with for the daily commute. Thanks again for your great blog!

    Lindsay,

I am such a bum when it comes to lunchbags. I used to have a really cute lunchbag, but it got old and grubby, and I haven’t replaced it. Currently, I use (and reuse) small handle bags from stores. They usually last a week or 2 before I end up ripping a hole it in. Your question has inspired me to purchase another lunchbag though. If anyone has recommendations, please let me know!

Love the new oatmeal recipe!! Two of my favorites for the AM. I like the cute yogurt heart accent in the center – you are very creative.

I’ve been wanting to give some kind of coffeed-up oatmeal a try for a little while now so I think I might just have to give your mouth-watering cafe latte method a go :)

Like many readers, I love oatmeal for breakfast too, but I’m bored with my regular combinations. I am going to try this one as soon as I’m home from vacation!

I, too, love the little heart in the middle! Was that intentional?

Great idea for oatmeal. I love combining your favorite things in one bowl, and oatmeal + other fav food/drink = a great way to do it.
