About

Welcome to Carrots ‘N’ Cake!

I love food, and I love eating! While I try to fill my diet with mostly healthy foods, I have a number of favorites that are not necessarily nutritious, but are still delicious and fun to eat. If eaten in moderation, I believe that the “bad” foods can be part of an overall healthy diet. This food philosophy is the inspiration for Carrots ‘N’ Cake.

I allow myself to indulge almost everyday, so my goal is always to find a healthy balance. By posting what I eat everyday, I hope others will gain some insight into how to incorporate good nutrition and the occasional splurge into their diets.

I hope you enjoy Carrots ‘N’ Cake! If you have any questions or comments, feel free to email me at carrotsncakeblog@gmail.com or tina@carrotsncake.com.

About Me

My name is Tina, I’m 30-years-old, and I live in Boston, Massachusetts with my husband, Mal, and my pug, Murphy. Besides spending time with my family and friends (and, of course, blogging), I love to stay active. My favorite form of exercise is running, but a hip injury has put me out of commission for about a year now. Even still, my goal is to run the Boston Marathon in 2011! I also enjoy walking, hiking, yoga, and Body Pump. (Ok, I’m a bit obsessed with Body Pump!) I also love baking, wine tasting, dining out, and traveling.

My full-time job is blogging for Carrots ‘N’ Cake, but I also juggle a number of part-time gigs. I write another blog called Trading Up Downtown for a nutritional rating company called NuVal. The main focus of this blog is how to save money and select nutritious foods with the help of the NuVal system. Additionally, I write a weekly feature for Health.com as part of their Feel Great Weight program. I also promote events online and via social media for a local fine wines company called Gordon’s Wine and Liquors. And, in October 2009, I secured a book deal with Sterling Publishing. My book will be published in Spring 2011 and it is based off my blog Carrots ‘N’ Cake.

I am certified as a Nutrition and Wellness Consultant though the American Fitness Professionals and Associates (AFPA).
