YOGA!!! I continue to do it daily, of course.

I started doing yoga years ago but never on my own. I only did it in classroom settings and when I could no longer make it to classes, it was something I didn’t do too often. Since january, I’ve been adding it back in my life through podcasts and this month I added even more with the challenge. It feels great to have yoga be a part of my day and I definitely do it more since I know it can be fit in at any time of the day. You don’t need a 90 minute class to make it worthwhile. Sun salutations when I wake up are perfect too. I’m so glad you had this challenge!

When I was doing yoga I found myself to crave it as well. The poses felt really good instead of hard to do and it became easier to focus and breathe. Even now when I’m on the elliptical or doing any other exercise, I breathe like I do in yoga and it makes it so much easier than huffing and puffing.

Yoga has definitely made me a better runner. I’m more limber, therefore I take longer strides. I’m more focused, therefore I tend to be more motivated out on my runs. I’ve learned to push through discomfort of holding postitions, therefore when I’m slowing down on a run, I push myself to speed back up. I’ve developed muscles that had been ignored before yoga, and I love the power it has brought to my mind and body!!

I didn’t specifically join your yoga challenge, however I had just gotten into a yoga groove of my own right around the same time. What you’ve said here almost mimmicks exactly my thoughts on it. I fit it in when I can and always feel better for doing so.
