Poor Murphy just had a mini heart attack! Actually, I did, too! 😯
Murph was sound asleep on my lap when the mirror, handing on the wall in our living room, came crashing down and startled him awake. It definitely surprised me, too! Murphy is still bugged-out by the mirror and barks at it every time he walks by it. Poor, guy.
I hope that 7 years of bad luck are not in my future! 😕
Check out the damage to the radiator. The mirror came down really hard!
Lunch
I spent the morning running errands around town and working on some NuVal stuff. (I work from home on Mondays.) I wasn’t hungry for a snack mid-morning, so when lunchtime rolled around, I was more than ready to eat.
I started with some homemade sweet potato fries that I tossed in canola oil, ground flaxseed meal, and shredded coconut. Ohmigod, were these delicious! I’m so glad that I made leftovers for tomorrow’s lunch! 😀
I also had some cucumber sticks.
Kiwi slices.
And a Tofurky sandwich with Roasted Garlic Mustard and cheese inside a Joseph’s pita.
I had a coupon for a free Tofurky product, so I figured I might as well give it a whirl. I tried the Oven Roast Tofurky Deli Slices, which were nasty! Seriously, the color, smell, and flavor were terrible. I actually threw out the rest of the package after eating a few bites of my sandwich. Eww!
Oh, well. The rest of lunch was delish!
For dessert, I had 2 pieces of dark chocolate– the perfect way to end a meal. 😉
I’m doing a little more work then heading to the gym.
See ya for dinnah! 😎

@James: I’m going to go with old walls!
That happened at my old house three times…and a bunch of other creepy stuff. I finally moved out. Ghosts freak me out.
What a great idea to put coconut on your sweet potato fries – yum! Congrats on sending in your book draft!!
Those sweet potatoes fries look killer! I could go for some of those right now! 😉 I haven’t had any luck with fake lunch meat type products either – they really just don’t compare to the real thing.
My dog would have flipped out if a mirror would have fallen in our house too! She’d probably still be shaking!
We had a picture fall from the wall the other day, we were in bed, sooo scary.
poor murphy ( and poor you of course!)! the more i read your blog the more i want a pug! 😉
My dogs would have freaked out if that happened!
Oh no…that mirror is gorgeous…can you replace the glass or was the frame damaged too?
Aw shucks! That mirror is gorgeous, too. Maybe instead of thinking of it as a bad thing, you could think of it as the mirror telling you that you need something more colourful to put up on the wall? 😉 It didn’t feel worthy so it fell!
I’ve had that tofurkey before. it’s horrible!! i dont know how it stays on shelves.
aaaah that’s scary!
oh no! How can a mirror fall off the wall?! No wonder Murphy was scared. I hope you don’t get any bad luck, well you can’t really, it wasn’t you who dropped the mirror – scary!
I can’t believe how horrible that turkey was! How can they sell it!
I made sweet potato fries last night!! Except I used a few different spices! Paprika, Basil and Italian seasoning!! mmmmmm! Very good!
I’m a vegetarian and I don’t like fake turkey lunchmeat either, it does smell and taste weird! Sorry about the mirror, hope you and Murphy have recovered 🙂
Oh no – I’m not a vegetarian, but I love Tofurky’s products, especially their lunch meat and veggie sausages! Although I have to admit the ham Tofurky is less than ideal…
Your sweet potato fries always look so delicious! A co-worker told me to coat them in egg whites to get them extra crispy and they were a DISASTER! I like your method much better =).
Out of curiosity…
Do you know the difference between a yam and a sweet potato? Is there a difference?
