Would You Rather?

Good morning! Are you ready for the start of a new work week? I am. I’m ready for it to be a great week. Last night’s dinner definitely kicked it off on the right foot!

Last Night’s Dinner

Yesterday afternoon, Mal (and Murphy) picked me up from the bus station in Boston. On the ride home, I mentioned that I was hungry, so Mal suggested getting Lime Leaf (our favorite Thai place) for dinner, which was an awesome idea. I didn’t feel like cooking and Thai food sounded, oh, so delicious.

I ordered the Lime Leaf Noodle (like I always do): rice noodles with egg, peanuts, scallions, turnips, bean sprouts, and chili paste, topped with crispy chicken. It is simply amazing.

Surprisingly, I’ve never ordered anything else besides the Lime Leaf Noodle from Lime Leaf. I rarely order the same thing twice from a restaurant, but I just love this dish so much, I don’t think a different one could ever live up to it. (Obviously, I am psyched about the leftovers for lunch today!)

Mal and I ate dinner on the couch while watching the Pats game, so, of course, the pug stayed close by and hoped for dropped food. He’s such a little piranha.

Breakfast

This morning, I woke up craving peanut butter, so I made a big bowl of oatmeal with cinnamon, raisins, ground flaxseed meal, and a big scoop of Teddie. (I later went back for a second scoop.) I also drank a glass of Caramel Bark Pecan iced coffee with soy milk. So delish.

Mal and I love playing Would You Rather, so we pose questions to each other all of the time. His are usually a lot more ridiculous (and typically more disgusting) than mine, but they always make me laugh and get me thinking.

It’s Monday morning, and my brain is still in slow motion after this weekend’s adventures in New York City, so I thought a game of Would You Rather would be a fun way to start the week. Ready? Go!

Questions of the Day

Would you rather have a bad hair day or a bad skin day?

Would you rather be able to fly or read minds?

Would you rather be rich and ugly or poor and good looking?

  1. i’d MUCH rather have a bad hair day. messy buns + headbands work wonders.

i’d rather be able to fly. i’m not sure i’d want to know what other people were thinking.

the last one is hard! i’m going to cop out and say i’ll take average wealth + average looks. 🙂 such a cheater. i’m also thinking of this in terms of serious extremes… like barebones poor and heinous anus ugly. in that case, i’d probably rather be ugly and rich because i would never want to have to worry about where my next meal is coming from.

  2. I’d take a bad hair day. It goes away by the next day.

Bad skin…that’s not an overnight solution situation, usually.

I re-order things from a restaurant too. If you just LOVE it, may as well have it again if that’s what they do well and you’re all about it, why not, I say!

  3. I’d DEFINITELY choose a bad hair day. You can always wear a hat! I’d also rather fly because I wouldn’t want to know if someone was thinking something mean about me. And I guess I’d rather be poor and good looking…but then again, if I was rich, I could fix my face!

  4. I’m the same at my fave Thai place–> I know the other dishes taste wonderful but my standing order is too good to forego: if it ain’t broke, don’t fix right! I’m with Julie about bad hair days–> those are also easily rectifiable with a good wash! Skin not so much! As for flying v reading minds, I am going with flying..ignorance is certainly bliss!

  5. Would you rather have a bad hair day or a bad skin day?
    Hair day

Would you rather be able to fly or read minds?
    Fly

Would you rather be rich and ugly or poor and good looking?
    Rich and ugly

  6. I’d definitely prefer a bad hair day to bad skin day! I feel like I can work with bad hair (hats anyone?) but a bad skin day is difficult to hide:)

I’d definitely prefer to fly – I imagine reading minds would be pretty depressing:)

I’d have to go for rich and ugly….if you have the money you can work on the looks:)

  7. Bad hair day – easier to hide
Rich and ugly – at least you can buy cute clothes and get your hair done? haha
definitely fly – ever since I was little I’d have dreams that I could fly… I think it started after I went to disneyworld when I was 5 and went on the Peter Pan ride where you fly over the city. I always believed one day I would actually be able to… still holding in there.

  8. Bad hair day (I love headbands)! I would rather fly because honestly I’m not sure I would want to know what most people are thinking. Andd– I agree with Julie (above) I would rather have average looks and average money!! 😉

  9. Lime Leaf looks delicious and I love the cute package your food comes in.
I would rather have bad hair….easier to deal with than bad skin and less expensive.

  10. Nothing like a dose of Puggy eyes first thing Monday morning.
Fact: while running on Saturday I encountered a pug and thought: Murphy is a cuter pug.
He’s left a paw print on my heart. hahaha

  11. I’d MUCH rather have a bad hair day. I’m not oppossed to the idea of wearing a hat in work!

Definitely fly, avoiding bumper to bumper traffic, my dream!

Hmm…i don’t want to cop out on the third…I think poor and good lucking!
    What are your answers???

  12. Bad hair…easier to cover up.
Rich and ungly ’cause then I could pay $ to look better.
Fly, because reading minds I could get a lot more than I bargained for, which could be scary/hurtful!

  13. The Thai sounds delicious!
    1) Bad hair – bad skin is harder to fix!
    2) Read minds, although when I’m sitting in traffic on my way home tonight that answer will probably change!
    3) Good looking and poor I think, and I’d hope my good looks would get me a modeling job lol!

  14. id much rather have a bad hair day, that happens alot to me anyways! haha

id rather fly because id be afraid of whats on some peoples minds

id rather be rich and ugly cuz then i could just buy all the makeup and hair stuff i needed!

  15. Bad hair day, definitely.

READ minds! (Although I’d probably regret this with some people)

and that 3rd one is a toughie… but I’m vain so I’ll say good looking and poor haha. Maybe I can make millions off my face to get me out of my poverty??

  16. Would you rather have a bad hair day or a bad skin day?
Bad hair any day. I can pull it back with some little clips or put on a cute hat. Oh wait, I do that a lot already!
Would you rather be able to fly or read minds?
Fly-I think if I knew what people were thinking I would be disappointed in them or maybe they don’t really feel the same way about me or things I thought they did. That would be sad. Plus, if I could fly I could see family I never get to see.
Would you rather be rich and ugly or poor and good looking?
Rich and ugly-If I had some money I could do something about that with a little bit of plastic surgery or just buy really good clothes and makeup!

  17. Thai food rocks! I don’t eat it enough in my life.

I would much rather have a bad hair day… that one can just be fixed the next day!

I’d much rather be able to fly…

AND I’d much rather be poor and good looking ~ being rich was never something I’ve desired.

  18. Bad hair! Ugh–bad skin just makes me feel like an insecure teenager!
Fly–most of the time I have no desire to know what people are thinking.
I think I’ll go ugly and rich, just because I’m pretty sure I could at least make myself presentable with all my money. 😉

  19. I’d rather have bad hair (Ummm…kind of already do…) and be able to fly.

As for the last question, it depends on what you mean by “poor”. If you mean poor in a developing country where I can’t even feed my kids or send them to school, then give me rich and ugly!

  20. Yum…Thai food is definitely one of my favorite cuisines. Bad hair, fly…#3 is hard! I really don’t care as long as I’m happy. Being able to read minds seems like it would be awesome, but I think I’d be way too sensitive and take everything so personally!

  21. Bad hair day – ponytails are my best friend 😉
Read minds, I am scared of heights so flying might not go over well 😉
Rich and ugly, money can hopefully fix the ugly part!

  22. Hahah – my sister’s dog is the EXACT same way when we eat. You can always be sure you look down and see her little head stuck between your legs.

I’d definitely rather have a bad hair day, I feel like a loose bun is the easiest fix. I think I’d much rather be able to fly (sometimes reading people’s minds is more information than I can imagine wanting) and as for rich/ugly, poor/pretty – I say either way as long as I’m happy I don’t care about the other stuff! 🙂

  23. Fun game 🙂

Would you rather have a bad hair day or a bad skin day? Bad hair day – definitely.

Would you rather be able to fly or read minds? Read minds like Sookie on True Blood 🙂

Would you rather be rich and ugly or poor and good looking? Rich and ugly for sure. You can do a lot of good in the world with $$.

  24. I am on board with most everyone here and would rather have a bad hair day than a bad skin day.

Definitely would rather read people’s minds. But I’m a nosy parker like that. And I’d go for rich and ugly. As was already mentioned, money can buy plastic surgery.

I haven’t had Thai is the longest time. I’ll have to make a point to get some this week.

  25. bad hair day–for sure! That is what hats and clips and headbands are for!
Read minds–definitely always my superpower dream!

Poor and good looking–maybe being good looking would get me a sugar daddy? Haha, I feel like either way you answer this sounds kind of superficial! :/

  26. Bad hair. Bad skin lasts way more than one day. This I know.

Heck YEAH I want to know what people are thinking, though I suspect most simply aren’t. I’d like to clear that up.

I’ll take the money and have plastic surgery, get my hair done, buy uber-cute clothes, and who notices that I’m not adorable? 🙂

  27. I love Would You Rather’s! I do them all the time…with a few up this morning, too! 🙂

I’ll go for bad hair day (agreeing on the headbands with everyone), a mind reader, and poor and good looking. I’m not gonna lie…I get in a funk when I feel like my look is getting blah!
