Worth the Wait

Mastermind Weekend 1/16

Hey there!

I'm Tina

I’m the owner of Carrots ‘N’ Cake as well as a Certified Nutrition Coach and Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner (FDN-P). I use macros and functional nutrition to help women find balance within their diets while achieving their body composition goals.

An in-depth, 4-week reverse dieting course for women who feel like their metabolism has slowed down, think they might have hormonal imbalance and can’t lose weight no matter what they do.

Yesterday afternoon, I drove to the Milton Hill Sport & Spa for a 60-minute, post-marathon massage. I cannot explain how much I was looking forward to it.

Of course, I had a coupon!

Unfortunately, when I arrived for my massage, the front desk had no record of my appointment. Major wah. The guy at the front desk felt so bad, he rescheduled my massage for today and tacked on an extra 30 minutes for the inconvenience. Now, that’s what I call customer service! And the massage was great! It was totally worth the wait!

After my massage, I headed home to get Pimple Face Murphy to take him to his annual check-up at the vet. When Mal and I noticed that Murphy had an appointment coming up, we decided to wait to take him to get his weirdo pimple checked out. It turns out it’s probably just a huge zit. The vet gave us steroid cream and told us to watch it for the next couple of weeks. My dog is so gross.

After the vet, I headed to Starbucks to get some studying done for the NASM exam.

While there, I enjoyed an eggnog misto (steamed eggnog + coffee).

Or should I say eggnot misto?

The barista actually spelled it this way two different times, so perhaps she really thinks it’s “eggnot”? Haha.

I didn’t have a chance to make lunch until nearly 4:00 PM (and, weirdly, I wasn’t all that hungry), so I threw together a cheese quesadilla with leftovers from last night’s tacos, a side salad with roasted Brussels sprouts, and a couple of chocolate chip cookies.

I’m meeting friends for pub trivia tonight, so I’ll probably eat dinner (and drink beer) at the bar.

Good luck!

  1. Aww, poor Murphy & his pimple. Hopefully it goes away soon. He’s still adorable either way though!

My favorite way to relax is watching tv with friends in our sweats.

  2. My favorite way to relax is cuddled up on the couch with a great book and glass of wine…wish I could be doing that right now!

  3. Hmmm…when I’m training for a race (like right now) pedicures always sound so wonderful to me. But in general, going to the beach is the most relaxing place for me.

  4. I like to unwind by sitting and putting together my grocery list/menu for the week. I find it fun and relaxing to peruse through recipes I’ve bookmarked and organize the ingredients into a list. Weird? Maybe.

  5. My absolute favorite way to relax is to lie in bed and read. If I’m surrounded ny Hubby, kids, and dog, so much the better!

Hope Murphy’s acne clears up soon. Pug adolescence?

  6. My favorite way to relax would definitly be a massage if I could afford them more often! my (Free) way to relax is definitly on the couch with a cup of coffee and a good book or movie!

  7. My favorite by far is Friday pizza night. Glass of wine, homemade or takeout pizza, and the couch. It’s the best.

  8. My favorite way to relax is to eat breakfast in bed with my boyfriend…go to a yoga class, take a shower and pamper myself, or take a nap! But naps are a default… 😛

  9. Favorite ways to relax involve a cup of hot tea with honey, my chihuahua Space Monkey and chilling with a good book!

  10. Comedy! Nothing is a better way to relax and de-stress than with some good laughs. Watch a sitcom, a funny movie, stand-up, or SNL and I guarantee it’ll make ya feel better.

  11. My favorite way to relax is grabbing a pint with my husband and chatting away the problem. He always has a way of making me laugh about it and making it seem far less bad than it originally felt… gotta love him! 🙂

  12. Wow seriously good customer service! And thanks for the Eggnog Misto idea! I know, I know, you’ve said “get a misto” before. I got the eggnog latte about a week ago and nearly died after I looked up the calories. Oh, same goes for my nonfat Caramel Brulee Latte I drank today. That is another no-go.
