Worth the Wait

Hey there!

Yesterday afternoon, I drove to the Milton Hill Sport & Spa for a 60-minute, post-marathon massage. I cannot explain how much I was looking forward to it.

Of course, I had a coupon!

Unfortunately, when I arrived for my massage, the front desk had no record of my appointment. Major wah. The guy at the front desk felt so bad, he rescheduled my massage for today and tacked on an extra 30 minutes for the inconvenience. Now, that’s what I call customer service! And the massage was great! It was totally worth the wait!

After my massage, I headed home to get Pimple Face Murphy to take him to his annual check-up at the vet. When Mal and I noticed that Murphy had an appointment coming up, we decided to wait to take him to get his weirdo pimple checked out. It turns out it’s probably just a huge zit. The vet gave us steroid cream and told us to watch it for the next couple of weeks. My dog is so gross.

After the vet, I headed to Starbucks to get some studying done for the NASM exam.

While there, I enjoyed an eggnog misto (steamed eggnog + coffee).

Or should I say eggnot misto?

The barista actually spelled it this way two different times, so perhaps she really thinks it’s “eggnot”? Haha.

Lunch

I didn’t have a chance to make lunch until nearly 4:00 PM (and, weirdly, I wasn’t all that hungry), so I threw together a cheese quesadilla with leftovers from last night’s tacos, a side salad with roasted Brussels sprouts, and a couple of chocolate chip cookies.

I’m meeting friends for pub trivia tonight, so I’ll probably eat dinner (and drink beer) at the bar.

  1. After a particularly long day at work, my favorite way to relax is to cook a really awesome meal for dinner and then crash on the couch while catching up on DVR.

  2. I relax by waking up early (before my boyfriend and dog!) and going for a jog before work. Then I get home, make my Greek yogurt/canned pumpkin concoction (delicious I swear) and enjoy the quiet!

  3. I just moved to the south shore and I love taking walks along the beach after work – take away all of the stress from the day.

  4. I like to drive to the beach with a big ‘ole coffee in tow, find a bench in the sun, and read a good book. The key is being alone! 🙂

  5. I live in the western mass/enfield ct area and love going for long drives in the country. Driving by old barns and fields and some of the most beautiful new england views is the most relaxing way to unwind. And you can always pick up fresh farm eggs, milk, or a pet chick.

  6. My favorite way to relax?
Enjoying a beautiful fall evening on the patio, with a good book, and a glass of red wine. Post-work out of course!
    🙂

  7. My favourite way to relax is to cuddle up with my boyfriend and watch an episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm, or Star Trek: Deep Space Nine (our two favourite shows right now). It’s our weekend tradition and it brings us closer together every week, and we can just enjoy each others company instead of stressing about anything else!

  8. My favorite way to relax now (since I’m 33 weeks pregnant) is by doing some yoga or going for a walk outside. Since it’s been cold out lately, I’ve been having a nice glass of peppermint tea after dinner and watch some of my favorite shows…that’s what I call relaxing!!

  9. Your dog is so cute.
My ultimate favorite way to relax is pool side under an umbrella with a book in hand. My favorite splurge way to relax is a massage. But most of the time I relax on the couch infront of the tv like a lazy person 🙂

  10. Relaxation for me is after the kids are in bed, a cup of hot tea, a healthy (or not) snack, and my butt on the couch. There I will watch tv, read, and/or go online. This is the time I look forward to everyday!!

Love your blog – and your dog! We lost our pug to diabetes last Christmas. We bought a pug mix (pug and boston terrier) and she is nutso. I miss the pug temperment. PS – our Kiya always had zits.

  11. My favorite way to relax is sitting at the beach reading a good book or a trashy magazine. I don’t discriminate… and since I live on the East Coast, when the beach is not available, my couch does the trick too!
