Happy Sunday! š
Today has been a nice mix of work and play. I accomplished a lot of things that I needed to do, but I also enjoyed a number of things that I wanted to do. Basically, I’ve had a nice, little Sunday. š
Snack
I tried to sleep in this morning, but Body Pump was calling my name. Before class, I snacked on Pumpkin-N-Spice bar, which was really delicious. It’s one of my favorite flavors as I love all things pumpkin! š
Breakfast
After Body Pump, Mal whipped up a quick breakfast. He made me an open-faced egg sandwich on a piece of whole wheat toast with shredded cheddar cheese and hot sauce. It totally hit the spot.
On the side, I drank a chocolate protein shake mixed with Almond Breeze and iced coffee.
Snack
After breakfast, Mal and I cleaned our apartment from top to bottom. (We’re such slobs during the work week!) Once we finished cleaning, I snacked on a sliced peach.
Then, we visited an Open House!!! š
Remember when Mal and I almost bought a house? Well, we’re back at it again! But, this time we have a whole new perspective and a kick-assĀ realtor (not the moron we dealt with last time).
Mal and I really liked the house that we visited today, but we didn’t love it. It was located on a fairly busy road and the living room was pretty tiny. We won’t be making an offer on this one, but it was still fun to see a potential home. I’m sure there will be many more Open Houses in our future!
Lunch
When we returned home from house hunting, it was time for lunch. Mal and I shared a peanut butter and banana sandwich on whole wheat bread with raw veggies and Goddess dressing for dipping on the side.
We ate lunch while we caught up with last week’sĀ Bethenny Getting Married. (I’m starting to realize that I watch a lot of bad television. Should I be embarrassed by my show selections!? š )
After lunch, we took Turd Ferguson to the park.
Murphy had a great time running around with Dad and Mom.
We attempted to take a family portrait, but Murphy was much more interested in playing with the Yellow Lab on the other side of the park.
M & T!!
I love this sign!
Snack
A little while ago, I snacked on some dried pineapple that the folks from MegaFruit sent me to sample a couple of weeks ago. I love pretty much love all dried fruit, so I was happy to take them up on their offer.
Mmm, delicious! I practically ate the entire bag, but there really wasn’t much dried pineapple in it.
I also snacked on some pistachios before dinner.
Dinner
Mal and I were both feeling lazy tonight, so we made ham and cheese sandwiches on toasted bread for dinner tonight. It wasn’t the most exciting meal, but it sure was tasty! š I love a good ham and cheese sandwich every once in awhile.
To satisfy my sweet tooth, I made a packet of instant oatmeal. I added a little bit of maple syrup and some walnuts to the mix.
What are you having for dinner tonight?

I stayed up too late watching Bethanny last night š Note to any future mothers: not all babies are THAT EASY. Seriously, she made it look like a walk in the park!
We are having chickpea tacos for dinner!!!
Enjoy your Sunday movie night with M&M!
I made spinach and mushroom calzones…with whole wheat dough from trader joe’s. My fiance made the marinara sauce. They were super healthy and fillin!! It’s the second time that we’ve made them in two weeks!!
Had dinner with the parents, sis and hubby for my mother’s bday! L. Woods, a resto in Lincolnwood, for some tasty flatbreads, turkey burgers, roasted chicken and a big fat slice of chocolate layer cake. Delicious!

Don’t worry about watching trash TV! It is really a way to shut your mind off sometimes and stop thinking about stressful things. š
I had a big giant spinach salad with tomatoes, cucumbers, grilled chicken breast, hard boiled egg, green peppers and summer squash. delicious! Good luck house hunting!! Also your pumpkin bar sounds yummy! It is one of my favorite foods
I love when people mess with street signs. Around campus we have a bunch of those “walking” signs with the guy walking, and people put hula hoops around his hips š I laugh everytime I see one
Hahaha you guys have been eating a lot of sandwiches today! Breakfast, lunch AND dinner… Sandwich day today, huh? š

TV is meant to be a mindless activity! I say the trashier the better! š
I love dried fruit! I can never keep it in my house for long though. Every time I walk by the cupboard I end up snacking on it!
I’m at my parent’s house for the weekend, and on my own for dinner. I ended up eating a weird combo: heated up frozen garlic bread, baked salmon piece, leftover boiled yellow beans, and one piece of toaster strudel. Pretty random, but it was pretty tasty.
Wow I didn’t read back then- didn’t know you almost bought a house! I have lived in my house for a year and a half and I LOVE it. The house hunting process was actually a lot of fun and I learned a lot about nearby towns, driving through them constantly looking at housing. The process of buying a house was a little less fun but I think you know that already!
Awesome day of eats in my book š eggs, peanut butter & banana and ham & cheese – YUM
Haha and I watch way too much trash TV… so you’re not alone!
haha- your bad tv choices totally validate mine!!
“Bad TV” is totally a guilty pleasure of mine…just like reading celebrity gossip…you just can’t help yourself!
I just saw those pumpkin bars the other day and they intrigued me! Now I know I need to try them š
Joey and I had shrimp egg salad for dinner. It was soooo delish!
Sounds like a great day! And that sign is cute. Good luck house hunting….it’s a fun, stressful and exciting process! š
I LOVE the picture of the three of you with Murphy checking out the other dogs! So funny! We can’t get a “family” photo with our two labs for anything. And the sign is great too.
Don’t get too stressed about the house hunting, you’ll BOTH know it when you see it. My SIL started the process this week too and I have been remembering via her, how stressful it can be. Good luck.
I went over to my parents and showed them how to make spaghetti squash, and then we had that for dinner. It was great!
I love all your healthy snacks. Yum.
Now that’s a pumpkin bar I haven’t seen! Try the Kashi Pumpkin Flax granola bars…I LOVE them š
Good luck with the house-hunting! I hope it stays “fun” for you, rather than stressful. And I think it’s okay to watch bad television so long as you know that it’s bad š
What kind of hot sauce to you use? We don’t have many options in Australia, but I”m trying to branch out beyond tabasco….
When it comes to TV, I think the trashier the better for vegging out completely.
@Hannah: I use Tabasco, but I like a lot of difference ones.
I’ve been meaning to try that pumpkin bar since it came out last fall–thanks for the reminder!! š
Haha! I love that stop sign!
We have one where I live that says STOP (Hating).
I watch a lot of guilty pleasures on TV, I figure…that’s what it’s for! (Pretty Little Liars is sadly only on once a week…thankfully Big Brother is on a whopping THREE times!) =P
My very good friend watches a lot of bad television. I look at it this way – its mindless entertainment!
I saw a stop sign the other day that said “STOP…Hammer Time!” and it made my day. Love yours too! š
