Where to Stay

Mastermind Weekend 1/16

Hey there!

I'm Tina

I’m the owner of Carrots ‘N’ Cake as well as a Certified Nutrition Coach and Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner (FDN-P). I use macros and functional nutrition to help women find balance within their diets while achieving their body composition goals.

An in-depth, 4-week reverse dieting course for women who feel like their metabolism has slowed down, think they might have hormonal imbalance and can’t lose weight no matter what they do.

Last spring, I asked my blog readers for their recommendations about where to stay in Boston. Below, I have compiled a list of their suggestions and comments.

Colonnade Hotel

The Colonnade has the most amazing Roof Top Pool. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner up there!

Copley Marriot

It is amazing and connects straight into the Prudential Mall without having to go outside!! I stayed with my best friend and we loved it! It has a GREAT sports bar with a monster movie theater sized TV to get all the sports games. We are New Yorkers and watched Boston-Yanks game there – quite the fun time!!

Copley Square Hotel

It was renovated completely a year and a half ago, but it’s still got that vintage feel. The rooms are all unique, but really chic and comfortable with colors, linens, patterns, etc. They have a complimentary wine cocktail hour from 5-7pm or something, and coffee in the morning. It’s so close to a bunch of tourist sites in Boston and reasonably priced too!

Charles Hotel

I ADORE the Charles Hotel in Cambridge! So warm and comfortable – not to mention the incredible breakfasts at Henrietta’s Table.

Eliot Hotel

The rooms and the facilities and they are beautiful at the Elliot Hotel– and near and dear to my heart is that they offer Walk/Ride Day discounts and also a special biking package.

Fairmont Copley Plaza

I stayed at the Fairmont Copley with work and it’s a wonderful hotel in a great location with old world charm. And the BEST part, their “Canine Ambassador” Catie Copley. She’s a gorgeous dog that guests at the hotel can take for walks along Catie’s favorite paths.

Harborside Inn

We loved it, the price was right, we were near the market and the Freedom Trail, plus easy access to the T. Can’t wait to go back to Boston someday and stay again.

I recommend the Harborside Inn, it is next to Faneuil Hall and the waterfront. A great location to stay. It is a small hotel that is very charming. Very large rooms, updated, and very clean. I would definately stay there again!

Langham Hotel

I loved every minute! It was spendy but well worth the $$. Also, we went to their Sunday Jazz Brunch (open to non-guests also) and the food/ambiance was out of this world!

In March, I stayed at The Langham, which is in the old Federal Reserve building. I really liked this hotel because it reminded me of places I saw in France, and the service was beyond excellent. In addition, their lounge Bond is amazing. I posted about the experience on 3/29.

Liberty Hotel

I love the idea of staying in an old jail!

It has great bars and restaurants right in the hotel!

It’s a little pricey, but soo worth it. It also makes a fun stayaway for local Boston peps. You can have dinner on Charles Street and drink at Clink.

Newbury Guest House

I LOVE the Newbury Guest House right smack dab in the middle of Newbury St. I went to college in Boston and my parents had such trouble finding an affordable place to stay downtown. The rooms are small, but have character and the breakfast is great. Not to mention the location!

Seaport Hotel

I got married last year at the Seaport Hotel and they could not have been more easier to work with. All of my family (and husband’s family) stayed there all weekend and raved about the location, the amenities, etc. It’s only a short walk to Faneuil Hall area and the financial district. The views of the harbor from the guest rooms are amazing.

Sheraton Boston Hotel

I have stayed at the Sheraton Boston Hotel four times, including last month when I was in town to run the marathon. It’s such a great place to stay, especially with its proximity to the Prudential Center, Copley Plaza, the Public Gardens, Fenway Park, Newberry Street, and the list goes on. The views of the Charles River are amazing and you can even see into Fenway Park from some rooms! We always feel spoiled walking to the Prudential Center without having to go outside and there’s a Starbucks in the lobby. The customer service is great too! I highly recommend it.

Westin Copley Place

It’s nice and so convenient to everything, but not too $$$!

We spent a fantastic week at the downtown Westin Copley Plaza. We went on Priceline and said we wanted a 5 star hotel for 100 bucks a night in Downtown Boston and wow did we ever hit the jackpot! It was a beautiful hotel close to Newbury and a VERY fun run to Beacon Hill. I reccomend Priceline for the name your price feature and the Westin itself if you can book by the name alone!

Nine Zero Kimpton

We had a love stay, the room are very cute and with a great design, the staff is just very efficient. They offer a complimentary wine degustation every evening for the clients, but we didn’t went because it was too crowded (free wine=lot of people).

Definitely the Nine Zero on Tremont Street. Amazing hotel..free wine happy hour every evening..great location and wonderful hotel. My sister and I stayed there when we visited Boston the year before last.

  1. Hi Tina. I just wanted to let you know, this page was so helpful to me today! A friend from Cali is flying in with her bf who has never been to Boston, and asked for a hotel reccomendation. Since I am from here I can ramble a bunch off, but it was also nice to have this page all packaged together! You’re the best.

  2. Hey there, quick question ~ I’m planning a trip up to Boston, first time, is Portland Street close by to bars/restaurants/shopping? I found a good deal on a hotel called “Onyx” and want to check first! Any help would be greatly appreciated! I enjoy reading your blog! More pics of Murphy please! 🙂
