Hello! Happy FRIDAY!
Here’s another edition of What I’m Loving Lately!
60 Practically Free Ways to Update Your Home <— So many great ideas!
A local CrossFitter wrote this blog post after competing at the Battle of the South Shore Boxes at CrossFit 781 (my box) this past weekend. Her post shares her struggles and how she overcame them at the competition, which, of course, is so incredibly inspiring, butΒ her postΒ also shares what CrossFit is really, truly about. Read it. Watch the videos that she shares in her post. It’s guaranteed to make you cryΒ (in a good way, of course)! Her post also makes me want to sit down with each and every one of you, who has ever wanted to try CrossFit, and encourage you to do so. It’sΒ life-changing on so many levels for so many people.
10 Signs Email Has Completely Taken Over Your Life <— I said βΛyes’ or βΛabsolutely’ to every single one. I especially love #5. Haha!
What Is Your CrossFit Spirit Animal? <— I was a dolphin, which was pretty accurate.
This snack: Toasted English muffin with Light Creamy Swiss from The Laughing Cow, strawberry jam, and dark chocolate chips. It’s incredibly satisfying (both hunger- and craving-wise), so it’s perfect when you’re in the mood for a little something after dinner.
This outfit: Studio Burnout Crew Tee + Drapey Pant. Both pieces are from Reebok and, they are, ooooh, so comfortable. I’ve been living in them lately.
This Luxury Alarm Clock Wakes You Up With A Freshly Brewed Cup Of Coffee!
How to Master CrossFit Double Unders <— super helpful!
Blueberry Lemon Cake with Lemon Glaze
How gorgeous is this cake?! It’s absolutely beautiful, and I really want to make it. Blueberries and lemon? So summery and delicious. Actually, I want someone else to make this cake for me. Please and thank you.

I’m loving Bar Method and also I love that T! (And even though bar method keeps me busy, I’ve met a bunch of crossfit enthusiasts lately, and i think i need to try it for myself soon. Looking forward to loving it π )
I LOVE the mix of crossfit and cake! Somehow when I read american blogs on crossfit, it seems so much more fun than back here in Sweden. π
I’m loving a recipe I just tested out for pork breakfast sausage! I’m a bit of a sausage addict and it’s always nice to know I can experiment and make my own without lots of additives. I’m sure email and other online activities have completely taken over my life at this point so no need for me to even take the quiz. Enjoy your weekend!
OMG that blueberry cake…I must have it!
I want that reebok outfit..it looks so comfortable and something I’d probably want to wear after my little boy arrives in November!
I’m loving waffles lately…throw two in the toaster and breakfast is done. (I had a peach as well!)
I’m also loving sharp cheddar cheese, just sliced up on its own.
And I’m loving my new hooded sweatshirt from Martha’s Vineyard. Its coral color and the past few evenings have been beautiful and chill enough for me to wear it!
I’m torn on the coffee maker/alarm clock duo. On one hand its genius, but on the other I don’t want to associate my beloved coffee with that nasty thing of an alarm clock π I’m also loving that Reebok outfit…looks like the perfect fall outfit to go from gym to groceries!
the snack looks amazing!!!!!!
Would it be wrong to eat that blueberry cake for breakfast? Is it also wrong that thinking thin slices of that would make amazing French toast? I should probably stop now.
Ummm coffee and an alarm clock all in one is genius! And the blueberry cake is making me drool. Happy Friday!
My newsfeed was full of video clips from the CF games last weekend! I don’t do CF but I’m on my own fitness journey with similarly supportive people and it was so awesome to see that sense of community and perseverance captured and shared. That’s truly what ‘wellness’ is all about to me. Have a great weekend : )
WHAT! That coffee maker alarm clock is the smartest thing I have ever heard of!!! hahaha love it
I love strawberry jam and will definitely try that snack with laughing cow cheese! Happy Friday!
I absolutely love the videos and story of Amanda…. I have watched them numerous times with tears in my eyes and a smile on my face. She is truly amazing and very inspiring. And the title of her blog post is so dead-on….. that’s what CF is all about. She inspires me to keep pushing on…
π
Alarm clock coffee maker is GENIUS! I need it.
I’m loving the fact that it’s Friday! Although I have to teach some group fitness classes and train a couple of clients, I sure do love the weekends in San Francisco. My husband and I just finished watching season two of Orange is the New Black, and it was sooo good. I suggest it, when you have a moment to watch TV!
First if all, I’m loving that it is Friday! Also pumped that my leg is finally seeming to turn a corner and I’m feeling more like my old self although the Bambi legs are still there. Also new obsession is carrot juice.
Thank you for sharing Amanda’s blog post! Inspiring and tear inducing as promised!!
Oh ya.. definitely want that cake!
@Jolynn: LOL I soooo meant to put alarm clock but apparently by brain wants cake too!
Haha!
I read about an alarm clock that actually blows out puffs of bacon smelling air when it is time to get up! Well, Nothing says “I need to get up now” like the smell of bacon! π
I’m not the best b
That coffee alarm clock is amazing! Why wasn’t this invented sooner?? I’m loving my short week this week. I was off Monday and worked from home for a half day on Tuesday.
Haha! I know, right??
I am loving my new polar ft4 heart rate monitor watch. It is motivating me to work a lot harder in the gym and was on sale at best buy for $60!
Nice!!
My friend and I were just commiserating over our struggles with DUs. I’m excited to read the article and put some of the tips into action once I’m back to working out.
I’m loving lots of green smoothies in the mornings – with coconut oil and dates! Yum. Happy Weekend!
Yummmm!
Thanks for sharing the post from local competitor Amanda. I was tearing up at my desk just reading it. That IS what Crossfit is about.
Eating the cake while wearing the Reebok outfit while chugging the liquid heaven from the coffee maker is a trifecta pile of perfection just waiting to happen if I’ve ever seen one.
Yessss!
I was a Whole Foods last night and that never happens just because it’s usually out of my way and Trader Joe’s is a whole lot closer. While at WF, I picked up those chocolate chunks and totally went to town on them as I was driving home. So good…but so not good to leave an entire bag open in a confined space by myself! C’est la vie! One night of indulgence every once in a while never hurts. So, yes, loving WF chocolate chunks.
that muffin looks AMAZING! what a great snack idea!
That cake looks divine!!! I’m loving coffee actually..hadn’t drank it in about 5 years but I’m once again hooked! Trying to keep it one a day!
Alarm clock coffee maker is genius, but I’d be so scared I’d knock it over at night! #FirstWorldProbs xoxo, ganeeban
Haha! Me too!
That alarm clock! I need one in my life.
That cake!!! Oh that sure does look yummy.
I’m loving that it’s Friday! And we’re going up north a bit to hang with my sista and her fam!
Alright that’s it. I’m starting Crossfit! π So inspiring!!!
LOL I got a dung beetle as my CrossFit Spirit Animal, which is funny because I’m known as the “Cardio Queen” at my box. I’m loving that my schedule got one day less busy, so now I’m able to be home more to relax and do more work that needs to be done. π
I am trying that snack, Laughing cow cheese and jam sound awesome!
Yum that cake looks delicious!! And that tee looks so comfy π
That English muffin snack looks amazing! I love a good sweet/savory snack. I bet it would be awesome on a rice cake too!
My Crockpot; Twice (online clothing store = AWESOME); Tennis; and Iced Coconut Coffee… but I think the last was is ALWAYS on my list π That cake looks amazing too!
That alarm would prevent my zombie walk to the coffee maker every single morning as soon as I get out of bed!
I just read Amanda’s blog post about the CrossFit competition and it had my eyes welling with tears. She showed what an amazing support community CrossFit is. She definitely inspired me and reminded of one of the reasons I’ve come to love CF in such a short amount of time.
Thanks for the tips about double unders! We jump rope at my kickboxing class as warm ups and I’ve been trying to sneak in some double unders. I’ve been approaching them all wrong! Haha
I need that alarm clock in my life ASAP!!!
I got Cheetah, SO accurate, I live for the speedy WODs π
I might actually LIKE my alarm clock if it did that! Brilliant! I am loving that my Auntie Linda is here in Hawaii, that we weathered the tropical storm this weekend together, and that I finally made it public that my hubby and I are expecting our first wee one in January, 2015!
Thanks, Tina, for sharing my cake! I’m so glad you like it and you know what, I’d be happy to make it for you if I lived closer π But honestly, it’s a SUPER easy cake. No mixer, it’s as easy as muffin batter and seriously is a 5-min stir together deal. I’m really glad you like it though – thank you π
I love chocolate and cheese together. It’s one of those perfect combos. I’ve been loving the weather lately here in NYC. It’s been sunny and warm with low humidityββaka perfect hair weather.
dark chocolate & good coffee π
