Hi, friends!

Happy, happy, happy Friday to you!

Here’s another edition of What I’m Loving Lately for your viewing pleasure. Feel free to share what you’re loving lately in the comment section. I love hearing what cool things you guys find!

Cuyana Travel Case Set

The nice folks from Cuyana recently sent me a couple of items to review on CNC: A beautiful leather tote and travel case set, which I am totally and utterly obsessed with. I love the contrasting colors and overall look of the cases. They are so pretty!

I’ve had the same makeup bag since 2010 so, as you can imagine, it was getting pretty nasty. I washed it a ton of times over the years, but it finally started to rip at the seams, so having this gorgeous travel case set is a serious upgrade! And, as dorky as it might sound, I feel so grown up and fancy with it! Haha!

I also love that the set comes with two travel cases. The larger one fits my bigger beauty products (i.e. deodorant, face wash, hair serum) and the smaller one is perfect for make-up and items that I use daily. I took them to New Hampshire this past weekend, and they held all of my stuff and kept everything nice and neat. I am a big fan!

Popcorn

I’ve always liked popcorn, but it’s not something I usually crave or eat. However, I’ve been loving it lately. And it’s one of those foods that once I start eating it, I CAN’T STOP. I want ALL THE POPCORN!!

J.Crew Fall Collection

I’m totally digging the new fall collection from J.Crew. I want to buy everything! Some favorites: Crinkle Plaid Scarf, Side-Zip Striped Tee, Zip Tunic Sweatshirt, Toothpick Jean in gray dove, and Barbour Convoy Jacket (<— love the hood). FYI: You can save 25% with the code SHOPTIME (valid through 9/8/14).

Priv

I read about Priv in US Weekly and it seems so cool. I haven’t used it yet, but I totally would in a heartbeat! It’s a 24/7 service that sends a beauty professional right to your house within an hour for a blowout, manicure, pedicure, massage, or yoga session. HOW AWESOME IS THAT!?! I want to try it so bad. Perhaps for the next special occasion in my life?

Reebok Z Goddess Glitch Sneakers

I love these new kicks from my friends at Reebok! Obviously, they are colorful, cool, and stylish (I rock them when I do errands), but they’re also great, light-weight running shoes too.

These sneakers are seriously comfortable with a low-cut fit for easy, natural movement, and they’re stable and cushion-y, so they’re supportive too. Basically, they’re the best of both worlds! FYI: They also come in teal!

Mustard on salads

I use mustard just like I would dressing on my salads, and it’s my favorite thing ever. I’ve also tried all different kinds””yellow, spicy, honey, wasabi, horseradish and now we have a crazy amount of mustard in our fridge now! Haha!

  1. What I’m loving lately: getting to know my new students! Although it’s a little hard to get back into the swing of things, it’s exciting to welcome a new group of preschoolers into the classroom! Also, I’m loving quiet weekends away from NYC. This weekend, I’m renting a house in the Catskills with a big group of friends. FriYAY is right. 😉

  2. I’ve been putting mustard on salads for years. It’s so good! FYI, if you haven’t tried it yet, TJ’s carries a mustard garlic aioli in a jar next to the other mustards. It is the bomb! Tastes so good on roasted veggies, potatoes, and yes, salads too!

    1. @Mia: I hadn’t heard of this and happened to be making a TJ’s trip today – thanks for the recommendation:) I picked it up today because of your tip and used it on a roasted veggie salad tonight with some chicken sausage….delicious!

  3. Umm popcorn is eaten in full in one sitting. My favorite is to add candy corn. Trust me!! The combo of sweet and salty is out if this world.

And I’m totally in love with JCrew’s fall line.

  4. Love me some popcorn! I usually just do the spray butter/salt combo but picked up some powdered blue cheese and powdered vinegar to sprinkle on there as well. Not too shabby!

Mustard. Oh yes. I tried the Whole 30 eating plan for a few weeks (testing the waters) and rather than make a bunch of fancy dressings from scratch, I went straight for the mustard drizzle. Amazing.

  5. I make salad dressings with homemade mayo and have done ranch, dill and honey mustard and they’re the best. Plain mustard not so much for me since I think it takes over the flavor of the meal too much. I love the J Crew scarves!

  6. Oh my gosh, that parenting story – hilarious. I will never think of Uno the same way.

I’m loving anything with dark chocolate and sea salt. I am convinced it is the most perfect combo of salty and sweet.

  7. I have been making jokes all summer how I am just so into popcorn right now. Can’t handle it- Especially Angie’s Boom Chicka Pop.

  8. I just started using mustard as a salad dressing too and I love it!

And the Uno story is hilarious!! I saw it last week and about died laughing b/c that will so be me when I have kids.

  9. I put mustard on salads all.the.time. If you want to get really crazy try some honey mustard, too. It’s too easy and too delicious. It’s right up there with popping a sweet potato in the microwave for a few minutes grabbing the ketchup/bbq sauce and calling it dinner. If that’s wrong I don’t want to be right.

  10. I love mustard but not so sure on salads?

Glennon Melton is hilarious. I follow her blog too and she says what we all think but don’t admit. She’s the best!

  11. Growing up, my mom and I always put mustard on our popcorn at home. I’ve gotten a lot of weird looks as an adult when I eat it that way, but it’s like putting mustard on a pretzel or something salty! It may seem strange, but it’s pretty delish!

  12. I am obsessed with popcorn!! I though usually crave it and have made homemade popcorn for the past 3 nights in a row… 🙂

  13. I would definitely love to try that pampering device. I’m in need of a haircut buy don’t have time to go somewhere. Having someone come to my house would be a huge timesaver. I’m loving my new Jaybird wireless earphones. No more nasty cords to deal with!

  14. My go-to “dressing” is a small scoop of cottage cheese with a bunch of dijon/spicy/brown mustard squirted on top (depending on my mood). I LOVE IT!

  15. I’m absolutely loving getting into the fall spirit and adding pumpkin to my morning smoothies. I’ve been making pumpkin pie smoothies with almond milk, cinnamon protein powder, canned pumpkin, stevia, pumpkin pie spice, and ice… and omg, is it amazing, especially topped with a little whipped cream! I love this time of year, when the seasons begin to change and the holidays slowly creep up. Hope you have a fantastic Friday!

  16. I’ve been loving Skinny Pop popcorn! I’m also loving anything cinnamon flavored. (cinnamon animal crackers; cinnamon apple english muffins, caramel apple pie coffee, ect.)

And I’m loving pumpkin lately…in the last 24 hours I’ve had a pumpkin latte, pumpkin pie and pumpkin ice cream. I may make pumpkin dip later to dunk my animal crackers in, haha

  17. Errmerrgerrrd. I LOVE MUSTARD! Sometimes, I just eat it straight out of the container? Is that normal? I don’t know, but I don’t care!
I love me a mustard and fresh tomato sandwich, Add some black pepper – YUM-O!

  18. I am all about the popcorn too! I haven’t been poppin’ but buyin’ bags of Boom Chicka Pop or Cape Cod popcorn (the same company that makes the chips). All so good! I have some waiting for me in my car so I can eat it on the drive home tonight and just a portion in a zip-lock, otherwise the entire contents of the bag would disappear in a minutes. 🙂

  19. We recently picked up some fancy popcorn kernels from our local Kroger (not sure if you have those in Boston). Anyway, the flavor was so great, you hardly needed to add any butter/salt. If you’re big on popcorn, I’d recommend picking some up from Whole Foods and popping your own!

  20. I love plain popcorn with a touch of sea salt – so good! My favorite is the Simply Balanced popcorn from Target, but this weekend is the Popcorn Festival in my town so I know I’ll end up indulging on all types of popcorn, including some kettlecorn 😀

  21. I love putting hummus and hot sauce on salads instead of dressing. Also I usually feel like I need a little crunch on top, so I’ll throw on whatever we have at home – tortilla chips, popcorn, triscuits .. best is goldfish!!

  22. Love! Did you know that you can also bring in a pair of old jeans to J. Crew to get $20 off of a pair of denim. The sales associate told me that the promo is going till the end of the month (don’t quote me). Hello, toothpick jeans! Plus, it’s for a good cause! They are donating the old jeans for a Habitat fo Humanity project.

  23. I am loving the Lululemon Ebb to Street pant. It’s so comfy and perfect for fall!

My husband and I buy kettle corn from my nephew when he sells for Boy Scounts every year. Something about that particular brand is so, so good. I don’t buy any other kinds any more.

I like salsa on my salads. Husband thinks its gross, but he’s definitely missing out.

  24. Salsa is one of my favourite salad toppings but mustard sounds good! I also love throwing a bit of hummus on top of my salads but that probably isn’t very unusual.

Popcorn? Eh, I can take it or leave it. Anything sweet is my weakness!

I’m loving dates at the moment. I’ve always liked them but for some reason I’m a little bit obsessed all of a sudden.

  25. Barbara’s White Cheddar Cheese Puffs are my new favorite salty treat. Better ingredients than Cheetos and satisfies the craving 🙂 Also, Trader Joe’s coffee concentrate! Have a great weekend!

  26. I’ve been on a popcorn kick too lately! My strange addition has been making a sauce with peanut flour, a little salt and water. Peanut butter popcorn – beyond delicious! I’ve found that I like to dip it so it doesn’t get soggy;)
