Good morning, friends!

First things first: Be sure to enter my giveaway to win an awesome prize pack from Bhakti. Their sparking teas are a-mazing! Also, just a heads up for the local readers, I have another giveaway coming up later today that you will definitely want to enter. Be sure to check back! Ok, onto What I Ate: Working from Home!

Working from home is both a blessing and a curse, especially when it comes to having constant access to my kitchen. Of course, it’s great because I can whip up meals and snacks whenever I want, but my kitchen is literally steps away from my laptop, so it’s really easy for me to snack all day long. (FYI: It’s been so hot lately that I moved my “office” downstairs to where it’s a bit cooler.) On Sunday, I cooked up a bunch of healthy food, so I was able to keep myself pretty much on track. That said, here’s a look into what I ate yesterday working (mostly) from home!

The end.

Question of the Day

Did your day end with any of the following: cereal, chocolate, wine?

  1. Most days end with a little chocolate in one form or another. But Wednesday and Saturday usually include a glass of wine. I found I ate less at home than now that I’m back in an office. The sweets, treats and food that comes is nuts. Plus the added element of post work drinks and work dinners is new to my waistline!

  2. I am working from home right now as well and I definitely struggle with thinking non-stop about what my next meal will be. It seems like whenever I want to be distracted from my work I will “procrastineat.” I like to trek out to a coffee shop for that reason!

  3. I have like 1/4 of a bag of broccoli slaw in my fridge. I usually put it on top of arugula or any lettuce type for a quick filling salad. Never even thought of sautéeing it. Sautéed broccoli slaw is whats for dinner tonight now.. Thanks for the idea!! 🙂

  4. I love TJ’s fire-roasted peppers and onions for fajitas! The flavor is SO good. And pretty much every day ends with chocolate in my world. Yesterday, it was Theo coconut dark chocolate and Larabar double chocolate brownie bites, both of which I’m totally in love with 🙂

  5. I am curious- do you ever log your food? I find that when I do it I end up eating more sometimes or I feel like it never tells the true story (all calories are not created equal) so I usually get fed up and quit doing it! What are your thoughts?

    1. I count macros on occasion, but I’m not super strict about my diet. If I’m hungry, I eat! I guess it comes down to balancing what I eat the best I can. I feel my best when I eat this way and logging definitely helps!

  6. I hear you loud and clear! When I didn’t work from home I prayed to be able to so I could have constant access to fresh veggies and fruit. Now sometimes I think about that and laugh because I have access to way more than veggies and fruit!

  7. My days always end with some dark chocolate. I need something sweet after dinner so I break off a couple of squares of dark and eat it with a couple of juicy dried plums. It never fails to satisfy.

  8. I did the same post for yesterday but yours looks a kazillion times better than mine! I had the worst kind of binge-eating day and am desperately trying to erase it from my mind so that I can stay on track for the remainder of the week!

Ps. The PB puffs are amazing! I can’t have them in the house haha

  9. I ended my day with a bowl of Turkey Hill’s Double Dunker ice cream topped with hershey’s simple chocolate syrup, eek! I told my husband last night I’m not allowing any more ice cream in the house! When its in the freezer I have to have a bowl at night!

p.s. I need to make your banana peanut butter smoothie but I’m unsure about buying protein powder. I’m just not sure how adding protein powder would impact my diet (i.e would I put on weight? extra calories I don’t need?)

  10. I made your chicken fajitas last week and loved them! Just a little chopping as I prepped everything on Sunday and it was all ready for a quick return-from-work evening meal 🙂

  11. 8000 ramekins, ha.. i find i eat better when i work from home because i am not tempted by the office snacks! there is a snack table outside my cube and people are always loading it… it is the worst!!! keep the chocolate to yourselves people! haha

  12. I have to try that Iced decaf Americano with coconut milk! Question: how did your body handle wine after baby? I can’t seem to handle anything. I didn’t have alcohol for almost two years during pregnancy and nursing so I think I lost my tolerance for alcohol. It would just be nice to have a glass of wine every once in a while. Love your blog Tina!

  13. I’m sure you have talked about this before but why do you add collagen to your smoothies? I bought some of the magnesium lotion you recommend and love it. I already take magnesium supplements to help with my anxiety and I feel the magnesium lotion give me that little boost I need when I feel an attack coming on.

  14. My day today started with cereal and chocolate! Whoops… At least it didn’t start with wine, lol. 😉

I don’t know how you do it; I’d end up eating my entire kitchen if I worked from home!

  15. I am thinking about adding collagen to my diet. What benefits have you seen? Also, on the brands…..Great Lakes vs. Vital Proteins? Thoughts?

  16. I made a very similar version of the banana/pb smoothie this morning and can’t remember why I haven’t made one like this in so long. It was so good! I also made your cowboy caviar cauliflower rice bowl for meals for the week (and added in some lentils, bell peppers, and yellow squash more just for volume) – thanks for the rec on the cowboy caviar salsa – also awesome.

Whenever I can, I prefer for my day to end with chocolate. 🙂

  17. I wish my day ended with chocolate, cereal and wine! Do you find that adding collagen to your coffee helps your skin or the way you feel?? Also you should definitely try bolthouse ranch dressing! It only has like 45 cals per serving
