Weekend Via Snapchat

Mastermind Weekend 1/16

Hey there!

I'm Tina

I’m the owner of Carrots ‘N’ Cake as well as a Certified Nutrition Coach and Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner (FDN-P). I use macros and functional nutrition to help women find balance within their diets while achieving their body composition goals.

An in-depth, 4-week reverse dieting course for women who feel like their metabolism has slowed down, think they might have hormonal imbalance and can’t lose weight no matter what they do.

Hey, hey!

Guess who’s on Snapchat now?!? That’s right. Carrots ‘N’ Cake finally got with the times, and now I’m actively “snapping.” I’ve actually had an account for quite awhile, but I just watched my friends’ ridiculous snaps and rarely ever posted anything. Fast forward to this past weekend: The nice ladies of KFIT showed me what it’s all about and now I’m really into it. I’m actually surprised that I didn’t jump on sooner! It’s a lot fun!

My first weekend on Snapchat was quite eventful with a 5K race followed by a fun girls’ day. Sunday started with the Boston Patient & Family IBD Symposium and then we had lunch with friends at the Yard House. And, of course, it was all well-documented on Snapchat (and Instagram). If you’re interested in following me on either account, you can find me at carrotsncake. Ok, that said, here’s a recap of my weekend via Snapchat (with some iPhone photos mixed in)!

Brooks Launch 3 in black and teal = love!

I finished the race in 24:55 (8:01 pace), which is better than I expected considering I did 55 Deadlifts at 155 pounds, 55 Wallballs, and rowed 55 calories on the erg the day before. (FYI for the CrossFitters: I had two full minutes off the rower and got ZERO HSPUs. ZERO!! As Mal says: I have some holes in my game.)

Post-race Irish Car Bomb Cupcakes!!!

Quinn actually picked up the gallon of milk below and carried it over to our shopping cart. Mal helped him put it inside and then they high-fived each other. It was super cute.

Giving it a try!

The end.

Question of the Day

Are you on Snapchat? Thoughts?

  1. Snap chat has become my favorite social channel as of late! I love sharing my snaps with friends or one specific person. So many brands are doing awesome things on Snapchat, which is interesting to see how some are using the new form of media.

  2. I’m so behind the times, I don’t even know what snapchat is! But, that picture your little when he’s just waking up is PRICELESS! That should be a meme.
I tried doing HSPU last night and can’t even do one, oh well lol. I’m going to add this to the list of things I need to work on. There’s definitely “holes in my game” too 🙂

  3. I think that Snapchat is my favorite social media. People seem more authentic in it since you can’t edit it and the pictures only last 24 hours, so they seem more real! I love getting that personal look at bloggers (and famous people..not ashamed to admit I follow Kim K).

  4. Isn’t Snapchat just another version of Instagram? I feel like a lot of socail media is just different versions of the same thing. It is too much! I don’t think I will join for that reason and that I feel that all this social media suchs us away from what really is important, life our families and living in the moment.

  5. Good luck with Snapchat! I’ve tried, but it’s just too much to keep up with in addition to all of the other social media accounts. Looks like you guys had a fun weekend! Love your striped leggings, too!

  6. I still haven’t gotten into Snapchat. I have it and I’ve used it a handful of times, maybe I just need to play with it more. Love the photos! The pic of Q on Sunday morning, that was what things looked like at my house too! 🙂

  7. I had 90 seconds and got one HSPU. FINALLY. I hear ya with the holes in my game. Last year I spent 2 hours at the gym on Monday night desperately trying to get just one for the Open and it never happened. CrossFit keeps us humble!!

  8. I love that you’re taking on snapchat. It definitely feels like a more “real” form of social media as compared to instagram/twitter/facebook. Any social media platform that encourages unlimited emojis and silliness is a win in my book 🙂

  9. Yay! More Snapchat entertainment. I had surgery for my Crohns 2 weeks ago and recovery is slow and boring. I’m loving the little Q videos for my afternoon entertainment!

  10. This is totally unrelated to your post, but I thought you (and your son!) might be interested. There’s a live webcam to the bald eagles in DC that just hatched two babies. My son is the same age as yours and he’s loving it. We’ve been lucky enough to catch the babies eating a few times. http://dceaglecam.eagles.org/

  11. Looks like a fun weekend! Would love to know where you got your wall organizer in the pic of you and Murphy!

  12. you HAVE TO share how that turkey liverwurst is! i used to LOVE liverwurst growing up…havent bought it in ages, but crazing now!
