Hi, friends! Happy MONDAY to you! How was your weekend?
We had a wonderful weekend AT HOME, which was much-needed and very, very nice. We didn’t have any set plans, but we managed to accomplish quite a lot, hang out with friends, and rest up for the week ahead. That said, here’s a top 10 list (in no particular order) from our weekend!
1. Trying on Halloween costumes with Quinn at Target. I really liked the dino hat and shark hat, but Quinn wasn’t a fan. No hats for Halloween! We wanted to dress Quinn up as Rod Stewart because he has that amazing crazy blonde hair, but we’re not sure people would get it when we went trick-o-treating. Maybe they would? Now we’re not sure what he should be for Halloween.
2. Grocery shopping at Target. I figured I might as well kill two birds with one stone while at Target. I was actually really surprised with how many healthy options Target had, and I bought just about everything we needed for the week. Boom. Target for the win!
3. Quinn’s first hair cut. Our little boy is growing up so fast!
4. Another first for Quinn: His first escalator ride. He was nervous at first, but loved it by the end.
In fact, Quinn loved riding the escalator at Crate & Barrel so much, he and “Dada” went up and down about a half dozen times together. Quinn didn’t want to stop and cried when we had to leave. Awww!
5. The most amazing bread in the whole wide world arriving at our house. I am so pumped!
6. Taking a class at CrossFit South Shore. Oh, how I missed CrossFit. You just can’t keep me away!
7. Having friends over for wine and apps. It was a totally impromptu get-together, but I’m so glad we all had a chance to catch up!
8. Sleeping until 7:45 AM on Sunday morning and waking up to an iced Americano and pancakes. Best husband ever.
9. Buying an “easy close” baby gate for our stairs. It’s amazing and so much better than sliding our plastic gate back and forth through the railing spindles. It’s a lot more sturdy too, which means Quinn isn’t constantly shaking/banging it against the stairs!
10. Finally making some furniture decisions!
We decided on this dining room table and piece of art from Crate & Barrel.
And we bought a box spring and frame for our guest bedroom. Finally! Our house is slowly, but surely coming along!

My top weekend moment? My little girl being discharged from hospital and coming home! Happiness!!
Yayyyyy!
Toddlers dig capes so anything superhero related would definitely be a winner for Quinn! 😀 Gosh he’s cute!! Best part of this weekend was watching Pitch Perfect 2 – I love a capella music and watching that talented cast sing their hearts out is just rejuvenating! Happy Monday!
Top moment was trying on costumes with my son. I was laughing so hard, they’re just so darn cute. And can I tell you how jealous I am that a box of Dave’s came to your door?!!?
Aww that’s too cute about Quinn and the escalator! TOP moment this weekend was my Mon arriving on Saturday to spend a few weeks with me!
Oh man Rod Stewart – if people got it, that would be so funny!! I love the art piece from Crate & Barrel. So striking. And the picture of Quinn with the Band-Aid on his head is the most adorable thing. Hope it’s okay! My top moment was having my mom pull up to my house Friday afternoon to visit for the week. Ahh the best sight!
Top moment: surprising myself by running 9 miles on Saturday, despite already sore legs and lack of motivation! I haven’t run that far in quite a while and I have a half marathon coming up in a few weeks. Phew!
Another top moment: spending time with my fiancee and puppy.
P.S.- I love Quinn’s haircut!
Quinn looks adorable in those hats! Can’t wait to see what you coming up with for his costume. My top moment of the weekend was hiking in a gorgeous state park and seeing all the rapids and waterfalls. SO much fun, and it was my dog’s first hike! She did great 🙂
I haven’t heard of Dave’s Killer bread. Just saw they list the Sam’s by my house as a retailer!
What kinds to you guys like? That sin dawg baguette looks amazing!
the sin dawg IS amazing!!!
@Corey:
Top of the weekend is definitely apple picking with the little fam!
One of my top moments was demolishing our old shed! Now we’re in clean up mode to get it looking like a nice pretty yard again!
I hosted my 3rd annual Fall get together with friends. I love to cook so some of the food items included buffalo chicken egg rolls and apple pie sundaes! AND we got cider donuts from an apple orchard…there were alot of TOP moments this weekend!
I’ve never heard of Dave’s Kiler bread! The Sin Dawg baguette looks amazing!!!
What products do you guys like?
i’m doing intro crossfit classes right now and i LOVE it!! i did them a few years ago but i’m glad to get back into it and excited (and nervous!) for a “real” class!!
Yayyyyyy! It’s the best! Enjoy!!
I love the cow print!!
Best part of the weekend was watching my two year old and her two year old cousin make “soup” in the garden with flower petals, water, acorns and anything else they could find 😀
I actually end up doing a lot of my grocery shopping at Target. They have lots of organic options!
I’m so impressed by how much (fresh) healthy food you can buy at Target in the US! The Canadian stores had good pantry variety, but no produce or meat. I miss Target!
My top weekend moment was date night with my husband on Friday night at our favorite French bistro. Excellent conversation, delicious food, and cute restaurant – perfection!
I actually had the entire weekend off! I just went to the gym and then relaxed allllll weekend. It was lovely! While grocery shopping I found that Almond Breeze (I think) now makes Almond-Cashew Milk! :-0!! I’m going to have to buy some when it’s time for more milk!
I am OBSESSED with that bread! I can’t buy any other bread now!
I went to a red dirt music festival called Medicine Stone. 3 days of camping with friends and listening to great music. It was an awesome weekend!
What a productive weekend! Mine was good, and I was able to meal prep for the week which is always a huge success in my book! 🙂
Wow that was an exhausting weekend. I love Crate and Barrel. My sons never liked anything on their heads either. I need to go to Target I have not been in over a year. Thanks

Going on a mini babymoon !
Fun!’
Ahh sleeping in until almost 8am sounds like a dream! I’ll definitely be taking advantage of the free coffee tomorrow 😉
We have been in our house for 3 years and we STILL have not bought the right furniture or have any good art on the wall! Good for you being motivated to go do it!
A top moment was watching my husband play flag football with my coworkers who are almost 10 years younger than him. He did really well and my coworkers were just as sore as he was the next day. Our dog wanted to run out on the field so badly and didn’t understand why she couldn’t. Thanks for the head’s up on the free coffee!
Best weekend moment was seeing my kids when I got back from a work trip Saturday.
Curious- what do you use the cashew milk for?
Same as other milks! I put it in my iced coffee, cereal, smoothies, baking.
