Good morning! Happy Monday, friends!
What a whirlwind week last week was. Holy cow. I think I am still recovering. Of course, it was an awesome week of adventures (Mexico! Boulder!), but I am so, so, so happy to be home. I was just telling Monica this morning that I when I am living my “normal” life, I crave travel and adventure, but as soon as I am off doing those things, I just want to be home with my boys. Is that strange? I’m strange, so maybe that’s it? Anyway, IĀ had a wonderful weekend at home. Here are my top five highlights from it!
#1: Quinn’s first baseball game.Ā
Quinn and I joined my friend Marisa to watch her fiance’s team play on Saturday afternoon. She brought her dogs and Quinn had quite the nice time playing with them. He got lots of doggie kisses and, at one point, he put his entire finger in one of their nostrils. It was pretty funnyĀ and neither ofĀ them realized what happened! Haha!
#2: Pug hugs.
Oooooh, we love Murphy soĀ much.
#3: Harpoon 5-Miler with the lovely ladies of KFIT.
Mentally, I totally wasn’t in the game for this race, so I planned toĀ do the bestĀ I could and focus on having fun with theĀ KFIT ladies after the race. Well,Ā I somehow managed to pull off a PR for my 5 mile race. Not too shabby! I finished in 40:11 (8:03).
Beer me!
#4: Lunch at Scarlet Oak Tavern with my favorite guys.Ā
I ordered a chicken sandwich with a sun-dried tomato aioli and French fries. Delish!
#5: Quinn is almost walking. He is SO CLOSE. It’s going to happen any day now!

BBQ with the family and some friends. It was glorious outside!!
I feel like that with my son except with crawling! He is so so close. He can kind of scoot but he just needs to pick up his knees!
Awesome job on the race!
My weekend high five was opening up my barre studio in Falmouth and getting advertising out!
Looks like a great weekend! Heading to hingham/ scituate next week and was hoping you might know of restaurants with dog friendly patios? Figured you may have brought Murphy on a few field trips. Thanks!
I think Beer Works in Hingham is dog-friendly on their patio?
I’ll take your weekend over ours! We really had a low moment. We had to put our dog down. Absolutely heart breaking. Our boys (3 and 1) keep asking for her. Sucks sucks sucks.
Aww, I’m so sorry. Big hugs to you guys.
@Meghann Badger:
So sorry for your loss š
Blend was definitely my high five. Boulder was gorgeous. It was just nice to chill and be around a ton of inspirational women!
I am the same way, I itch to travel and then once I’m traveling for a few days I am ready to be at home. My high five from the weekend was knocking out a ton of to-dos yesterday. May is a busy month and I was able to pick up gifts and goodies for all of the celebrations!
Love that last picture!
Quinn will have Porter beat by a couple months in the walking department..this kid just shows no interest (third child syndrome). š
Oh adorable little pug!
I ran my second half marathon after not training for it and only running a max of 7 miles a couple months ago. I also beat my previous time by 12 min so I’ll take it!
Congrats!!
Awesome PR š
You too!!
Bikini weather, red wine, dark chocolate, and an outdoor Bootcamp class!
Droooooling over that chicken sandwich and fries.
Had a great weekend in provincetown for my friend’s bachelorette! 5 highlights:
-Tried aerial yoga and had a blast
-Stayed in an amazing beach house with good friends
-Wine tasting at Truro vineyards
-Hiked through the dunes
-Ridiculous drag show Saturday night
Looks like a fun weekend. I love Scarlett Oak Tavern! If you like crab cakes, I recommend their crab cake sandwich. My high fives from this weekend are: Dinner with a friend I hadn’t seen in over a year Friday night, four mile run on Saturday, drive in movie Saturday night, 50 mile bike ride yesterday and a nice, cold Long Trail Summer Ale after my ride! š Basically, I’m exhausted today!
Congrats on the PR! Marathon training + strength is DEF keeping you strong! That’s especially impressive after a week of travel!
Looks like a fun weekend! My weekend high note was probably spending some time writing and reflecting.
Congrats on your PR!
It was my first Saturday off in six months! I start a new job today and one of the perks is a normal weekend! It was SO nice!
Great job at the race! Sounds like you had a fun, relaxing weekend! Weekend high was spending time at the beach, and getting out for a strong, 8 mile work out on Saturday. Hope you have a great week š
Nothing too exciting for me. I worked this weekend, but the highlight of my weekend was Sunday. I was officially off orientation and on my own saving lives! Felt great to have the training wheels off. š
I totally get what you mean about craving adventure & travel when you’re home, but then just wanting to be home with your boys when you’re away! I experienced the same thing this weekend. I went up to northern California to visit my best friend from college, and while I had a blast and enjoyed our weekend so much, I was so ready to see my two favorite boys by the time Sunday morning rolled around!
After reading about your kiehl’s face mask, I finally ordered and used it for the first time this weekend! MY skin feels so smooth and soft, but I really hope it reduces the size of my pores. We celebrated out 8th wedding anniversary this weekend, so that was the best part š
So glad you like it! It’s my favorite! š
Congrats on the PR!! Looks like a fun weekend!
Hi! Wondering what shorts those are you ran your race in? Been struggling to find good running shorts that don’t ride up or chafe! Hello warmer weather š cute pics!
They’re from Brooks: http://www.brooksrunning.com/en_us/womens-brooks-pureproject-3.5%22-running-short/220890.html?dwvar_220890_color=911#sz=19&start=13 They are awesome and great for ladies with big quads! š
Congrats on the PR!!! That looks like such a cool race š I want that beer. My weekend high five was attending my cousin’s bridal shower and reuniting with family members!
Aioli = best.
Your weekend sounds lovely! My highlight was a friend’s going away party – nice to spend an evening with awesome people.
I went up to Seattle to meet my friend’s new man over wine tasting and all sorts of eating and drinking. I love food and drinks so it was a phenomenal time.
Love that red hair! Looks like a great weekend. While I also love adventure, I truly love my time spent at home. I think I’m just a homebody at heart.
Congrats on the PR! My guy is not ever interested in walking. His birthday is next week, but he’s SO fast with crawling I think he just wants to get everywhere as fast as possible so to him walking isn’t worth it! I can’t wait until he’s toddling around though!
Quinn walking has to be the most exciting part! High five to that!!! š Would be great if he was running around for the summer!
Weekend highlights included my son’s 6 month photo session in which he had a very serious face in most photos, ha! Trying a new IPA which I now love! And a brunch with some girlfriends Sunday morning. I cooked them up a breakfast egg and sausage casserole, a raspberry cream cheese coffee cake and some hash browns. Cooking and entertaining is one my favorite things to do! Now its Monday, back to clean eating and working hard for that three day weekend!
Oh my gosh your lunch looks so good. I love steak fries! More potato!!
I am currently in the midst of more than a month of being gone EVERY weekend and it makes me miss my Boston weekends so so so badly! I totally get what you mean, I’m grateful to be able to do all I do, but dammit I want to stay home.
We had a huge centennial celebration in our little town this week. Bounce houses, vendors, pie & ice cream eating contests and live music. So much family fun to be had. Surely something my 3 girls will have fond memories of.
That last photo of Quinn holding onto Mal/Mal holding onto Quinn is just so precious. It’s the kind of pic that when I see of my son (who’s now 3.5) it totally makes me tear up!!
sounds like a great weekend! Murphy and Quinn are too cute together!!!
Lots of relaxing, recipe experiments, yoga, and time with my family. I guess that’s only 4, but it was still a good weekend.
Yours looks fun and action packed! I am always in awe over the amount of energy you have to do so much!
Surprise early birthday celebration with the girls and massage!
Aww, that sounds really nice!!
Your little man is so darn adorable, and I just have to say – I love his style! You put him in some of the cutest little man outfits. =) My biggest weekend High Five was a one-on-one session for our Sport class; I was the only one who showed up! Plus, it is with an amazing coach at our gym, who is actually moving to the East Coast come June/July. He’s going to be missed!
