Hey, hey! Happy Monday!
I can’t believe Thanksgiving is just a few days away. Even though it’s a short week, I have a lot jammed into it. Quinn doesn’t have Early Intervention today, so I’m going to hit up CrossFit and then probably swing by the library and/or playground with him afterward. Tomorrow, I need to make a bunch of meal plans in the morning and then I have a video/photo shoot with Kerrie and Lucie. We have a number of projects in the works, so, hopefully, we can bang them all out in the afternoon. On Wednesday, we have our DTFN software meeting followed by a happy hour (yayyyy!) and then it’s Turkey Day on Thursday. There’s a lot happening this week, but it’s all exciting stuff, so no complaints here! 🙂
Wearing (date night): Side Zip Pattern Sweater (<— 40% off) // Lolita Skinny Jeans // Downieville CYA Vest
Our date night on Friday was a lot fun. We met up with a couple of our friends at Station Eight in Marshfield. It was our first time there, and we mostly liked it… I mean, I think we’ll visit again.
The food was just so-so, but the bar scene seemed like a lot of fun. I guess we’ll probably just hit up the bar area the next time we go. We had an absolute blast with our friends though. We seriously laughed so much, and I learned quite a bit about cats that I didn’t know.
Saturday morning involved a fun partner workout at CrossFit followed by a trip to the Derby Street Shoppes with my favorite little dude.
At Whole Foods, Qman and I grabbed some post-workout treats: A Morning Glory Muffin for him and a Vietnamese Cold Brew (1/2 decaf) for me. After that, I bought Quinn some new sneakers, which he actually picked out himself. His shoe pick was very… neon and, ok, not my first choice, but when I asked him if he was sure they were the pair he wanted, he said: “Bye-bye” and walked toward the door. Haha! Well, ok then. Thankfully, I convinced him to stay in the store long enough so I could pay for them!
The rest of the day and evening were pretty low-key. I actually fell asleep on the couch for about 30 minutes, which was both glorious and awful at the same time. I am sooooo not a nap person. I always wake up feeling like garbage. Anyway, we rented a movie and ate ice cream that night, and it was awesome.
Yesterday morning started bright and early at 6:30 AM. Mal watched Quinn while I worked, and then we all enjoyed some Trader Joe’s almond croissants and cheesy eggs for breakfast.
The boys ran errands for a couple of hours while I worked… and when they were out, a special surprise from Dave and Marie arrived in the mail.
I seriously couldn’t wait to give it to Quinn when he got home! He loved it so much!!!
After that, we readied ourselves and drove to our friends’ house for our 4th Annual Friendsgiving!
Hooray for Friendsgiving! And what a way to spend a Sunday! Good friends, good food, and so many good laughs! We’re really lucky to have such an amazing group of friends!

Ahhhhh, love the Q-man shirt! SO cute!
What a fun weekend! You did have a lot going on this week. Good luck with that! I’m actually having friendsgiving on Thankagiving since my family lives out of state. It’s so much fun!
I don’t do a friendsgiving but my parents go all out for the real deal! The kids table shirt made me laugh!
How sweet of your friends to send Quinn the gear gift! We celebrated my birthday all weekend, so there was non-stop food and treats. It was a great weekend!
I really LOVE that side-zip sweater! I just checked it out on the website and am now mulling over purchasing myself one!
The best things about this weekend was a well deserved rest day and hubby and I went out for dinner. VERY rarely do we go to dinner because I’m weird about food from restaurants. I love the kid’s table club shirt! 😛
Looks so fun! The best thing I ate was scrambled eggs and toast bc the eggs were from a nearby farm. Farm fresh eggs taste so much better than grocery store eggs!
I love your outfits! What size did you get in the Lucky Brand sweater?
Thanks! It’s an XS.
@Tina: Thanks! Are you normally an XS in sweaters, or did you find this one to run large? I am thinking about ordering it and am debating between the XS and S. I’m normally a 4 or small for most tops (like at J. Crew, Banana, etc.)
I’m usually a XS at those stores, so I think the small might be better!
This was my first year attending a Friendsgiving. Houston is pretty warm this time of year, so we got to sit outside under twinkle lights while we ate all the Thanksgiving goodness…SO FUN. Best thing I ate this weekend was a chorizo + poblano tart/quiche thing paired with a vanilla latte. Super satisfying!
My friends just hosted a Friendsgiving this weekend (first one!) and we LOVED it! I made a sausage, leek and apple stuffing which I loved alot! But someone also brought blueberry crumb bars and I totally went in for a second serving!
I also chopped 5 inches off my hair – I have no time these days with working out, working full time and being a mom to style it, it was always pulled back in a wet pony tail. So I got a short bob (can still do a ponytail – essential!) and I love it! I can actually dry it now and look presentable, lol.
Tina, what is in the jug with the “XXX” label?
Our friends’ special family wine! 🙂
I love Friendsgiving! We do it every year too. Yours looks like a great spread 🙂
Looks like you have a lot going on this week! I have my first EVER thanksgiving this week- (I’m a Londoner, and an american friend of mine is hosting). I’m so excited!!
Any chance you know where your friend got the Friendsgiving banner? So cute!
I’m pretty sure it’s from Target.
I’m eyeing the rolls on the Friendsgiving table…did someone make those, or were they purchased? (And if they were made by someone…recipe??) Thanks!
I’m pretty sure they were purchased! 🙂
